Great LCD TV Minor complaints about media file handling and other. After our 32 Westinghouse LCD gave up the ghost I upgraded to this 40 Samsung LCD after a bunch of research a 42 LG was the runner up. The first LCD that was delivered had an apparent power supply problem as the TV would randomly turn itself off and refuse to turn back on unless left unplugged for hours. Amazon quickly shipped a replacement free of charge and this replacement has worked flawlessly ever since.I love everything about this TV but especially the vivid color in standard mode automatic brightness adjustment to save eyes and energy the great builtin audio the usbkey media support and the clean look of both the LCD and even its stand.A few minor complaints in order of annoyance1 I can't use the Samsung Remote control android app with this TV because the Samsung LN40C630 doesn't have the Internet@TV feature that 650 series and above have. Should've bought it instead.2 120Hz video smoothing looks like crap so I've disabled it HOWEVER that setting appears to be ignored when playing content off a usbkey!!! so movies still have that 'homevideo' smoothed look.
Perfect Performance I've had this TV now for about 8 months. I researched TVs for quite some time before settling on . . . . a Panasonic Plasma. Then I went to Best Buy and looked at televisions for a half an hour. Then I went to Walmart. Then I went to Target. After all that time just staring at screens and killing more than a few brain cells in the process I landed on this baby. Amazon had a deal I just couldn't pass up so I jumped into the brave new world of Hi Def. After 8 months of football games in HD video games and lots of Netflix I can honestly say this is one of the best purchases I have ever made. Everyone in the TV realm talks about blacks and I find the blacks to be very black in this television. Overall the colors are great very saturated. The picture quality is crystal clear. Seriously I feel like I'm at the game. Or killing zombies. You know depends on the day.The biggie in this TV is the 120hz. Now for the price difference of something like 60 bucks they upgraded the model from 60 hz to 120 hz and it shows. It doesn't show all the time but when it does it shows. Panning through a Bluray feels much smoother. Overall the entire moviewatching teamrooting castlestorming experience is fantastic with this TV. And as a bonus I moved in the last 8 months and the TV made it through the move just fine wrapped in a blanket. I would recommend this television or any Samsung to anyone.
Nice while it lasted. But 15 months? Really? I finally caved in and bought an HDTV after my old Toshiba 32 bit the dust. The rest of my family all love their Samsung TV's so that's what I bought. I liked the picture quality although I find it very annoying that using the HDMI inputs disables closed captioning.After 15 months it started acting like it was posessed. It would change channels change the volume try to reset the picture on and on. I thought maybe the remote had a problem so I took the batteries out of it and went to bed figuring I'd go get new batteries the next day. The TV turned itself on in the middle of the night! So I know it's not the remote that's causing the problem.My local TV repair says that the main circuit board is shot bad capacitors apparently a common Samsung problem and that it will be almost $300 to repair. In a TV that's barely over a year old? Really?And I wholeheartedly agree with other reviewers who have said that Samsung's socalled customer service is a joke. Nonexistent is more like it.
don't get 120hz get the 60hz unless all you watch is sports don't get the 120hz. save yourself the money and get the 60hz version. otherwise you'll be watching everything like a mexican soap opera.yes you can just turn the smoothness off but then you're just running at 60hz anyhow.this is not a dig on samsung i got the 60hz version and it's absolutely great. this is an example of how upgrades just aren't always better.

Great TV I bought this TV about a year ago and I have not been disappointed. This TV has amazing clarity definitely 1080p has plenty of HDMI inputs and has USB input so you can watch shows music or photos saves on a USB flash drive.I don't know about the sound quality I use the digital audio out toslink fiber optic cable to a surround sound system. When I turn on my DVD player or my PS3 the TV automatically turns on also very cool feature. The TV also dims or brightens depending on the lighting of the room.I absolutely love this TV.
it has all the basic two things i am not happy with it1 I click the power on button and have to wait till i literally think it's dead.
great tv I definately recommend this tv. Has great quality both sound and picture. Can't find any flaws so far. My parents also have the same one and they are really happy with it as well.
Great tv This is plane and simply the best tv I have ever owned. All and all looks great and even the older movies look fantastic expecailly the redigitized ones.. I definitely recommend this TV! purchased this TV after reading rave reviews from ohter sites who also own a Samsung TV and after determining what size and type of TV that I wanted. I've watched nature action and drama movies on the TV.
Excellent product Everyone told me to go with a Samsung TV and I am very happy I did. Being a big purchase for me this past year I couldnt be more satisfied with the quality of the tv. Its color and sound are wonderful and I had a very easy time setting the tv up.

Oh my Well my mother bought one almost 2 years ago and it still works fine.For that reason i bought the same TV but i wasn't that lucky. Just2 weeks later my tv has a thin vertical blue line that really bothers me.
Great tv! Good quality tv. I've owned it for about a month and it has everything I want. I'm able to hook it up to my gaming system and my computer so it works out nice. Picuture quality is excellent as well. If you plan on playing Call of Duty with more than 2 people you might want a larger screen.
some what annoyed the set has a very high picture quality so long as i am in the sweet spotaprx.5ft.of the tv.when ever i get closer or farther away the picture quality will either get very dark or very light.i have HDMI cable connected. the lack of consistent high picture quality is my only beef.
Out of the Dark Ages finally Dear fellow AmazonianzMy previous television was a 25 Sharp purchased 15 years ago. At the time it was considered top o'the line even though it weighed a mere 3 tons and was unmoveable. When it fell landlord came running up stairs to see if I was still alive. Being so large and dense it survived the fall and continued providing great images but the sound was slowly fading. My cable provider who I wont insult here is so busy acquiring new customers with a new comprehensive total residential package that smaller customers like myself in a small apt w one set have become like gnats in their ears. My reception was freezing or breaking up request for service calls meant minimum 7 day wait and a sudden event of no picture and no internet connection was becoming part of one's day like the water or electricity going off each day in certain 3rd world countries.Fortunately I moved 2 days ago and so decided to leave the dinosaur behind w a neighbor who was thrilled as his dinosaur was even larger than mine and about to crash.I honestly had no idea I originate from the dark days of silent cartoons of what kind of television to buy for my new life. After researching the concept of saving money and ditching cable altogether by getting an antenna for a tv set up for local limited viewing still needed technological skill I'm too old and tired to get involved with.So I did what any idiot would do I looked for the best reviewed set by Amazon customers read all the reviews on a set I could afford and bought this one.
Philips 22pfl3505d LCD TV What can I say the TV was a good value for the size and it came to the house in good shape. We've had the TV on almost everyday and it's been working perfectly. The set up was effortless it automatically scanned the channels and we were done. I had to go back and deselect some of the stations but that was easy too.

Great TV Great Price I got this TV on sale for 430.00At40' and 1080p that was a sweet deal!The other guy who complained that it didnt register 1080p for his computer was probably using a DVI cable to connect.I hooked an HDMI up from my PC to the TV and it rendered a flawless 1080!Great for movies. Those complaining about sound must have gotten a faulty unit. The sound on this one is fine for a TV.
nice tv for the price For $450 this is a solid tv. The colors are vivid and blacks and whites display very well. But being that it's 60 hertz scenes with a lot of movement looked digitized. Other than that an excellent tv. The sound is average but I wouldn't think there are many flat screen tv's with impressive built in speakers. Overall the tv was easy to use. I did end up returning it and buying a 42 vizio that is 120 hertz. It looks way better and was only $100 more.
Jack Spicer review This is my first flatscreen tv and I was concerned that the small speakers would sound tinny. But the sound is as good as my old 45 crt rear projector and it will play loud without additional amplification. You won't need an a/v/ receiver unless you have a surroundsound system. The picture is as good as the source provided and I'm very satisfied with this purchase. This Toshiba tv was a steal at the under $500 price I paid for it brand new.
Great TV I wasn't sure about buying a Tv on the internet but i read all the reviews on this tv and decided to try it. It shipped super fast which was a great surprise. Setting it up was easy from the box to all the hookups it only took about 10 minutes. The picture is just beautiful and it is so easy to use. The HD looks better than i could have imagined. The sound is just right. We have not had a single issue with this tv and i would recomend it to everyone.

Great Picture for the Money Although the options on this TV are somewhat limited the quality of the picture is truly outstanding whether movie content sports or other programming. The audio quality isn't quite up to the picture quality but we've enhanced it with other speakers.The finish is attractive and we're quite satisfied overall with the aesthetics.Excellent value for the money.
Excellent picture and excellent value This 40inch Toshiba LCD is perfect for a medium sized room where you're sitting 1015 feet away from the set. The picture is great right out of the box but I've experienced a little rattle in the sound on occasion which I have yet to troubleshoot. One thing you get with this LCD that you really want to have is 3 hdmi inputs. I have Direct TV my DVD player and a Roku player all plugged in and just switch back and forth by changing the input. No jumping around monkeying with cables. If you're in the market for an LCD in this size range you found it.

Sony Speakers MOD!!! This TV has ridiculous room inside the housing. I removed the stock speakers and replaced them with Sony Bravia speakers I pulled from a broken SONY TV. It was totally worth it! The software is very decent that drives the speakers but the stock DYNEX speakers are garbage.
Works Great! The picture quality is way better than my 60 inch $1500 Mitsubishi!! Will it last? not surebut it works in the bedroom when ever we turn it on. Its light and can wobble a little..but don't touch it and it'll be fine. Give it a try if you're on the fence. You'll be pleasantly surprised.

Good TV A couple years ago I took a chance on this generic tv sold at Best Buy and I really like it. I couldn't beat the price so I figured why not give it a try. I can't speak for other sizes but the 32 size 720p picture is bright and clear with great color. I don't notice any difference between the pictures of this tv and the Samsung tv in my bedroom. My living room is small about 10 X 14' and I set it up angled into a corner. The view is great from all over the room with no distortion in the side view. No problems at all with wii netflix or dvd connections. As other reviewers have mentioned the sound is low quality. It's very hollow and tinny sounding. Luckily I already had a little Insignia shelf stereo system that I'm able to hook up to this tv using the auxiliary function of the stereo. Otherwise I'm not sure if I would have been able to get used to the hollow sounding tv speakers. Bottom line good bargain if you already have a sound system to use in lieu of this tv's factory installed speakers. Other than that you either have to live with the sound or factor in the cost of an alternative speaker. At $249 I've already gotten two years of use from this tv and expect a few more. I love mine.
Great TV for on the budget people I've owned this Dynex TV for almost one year now and I've had no problem with the TV. My friend owns a big Philips hdtv and he told me my Dynex TV quality is great for the price. The originally wanted a 21inch hdtv but my buddy convinced me to buy this because of the price. I'm a college student and I can't be more happy with this tv. It's perfect for the price.If you're a gamer or a big movie person you might want to go with a Samsung or Sony. If you like to watch news in the morning before work and after you get home from work this is great. However tv's with 1080p is getting cheaper so I'd probably save a little more money and get the 1080p version.

Amazing TV for the price but I got this TV during Black Friday and it's been amazing so far. The picture and sound quality are sublime but just recently I've started seeing giant flickering vertical lines down the sides. It was subtle at first but as time is going on they're getting more and more prominent. I've had Dynex in the past and it worked very well but considering that my new one is less than four months old I'm not a fan. Although it's great for the price I'd consider this TV to be a bit of a gamble for anyone looking for a new set.
will crap out in 4 years I have two one bought in 2008 and another in early 2008. Remotes worked intrchangeably veofre why i bought two of same brand. Starting late 2010 the older TV began to not respond to both remotes. Then stopped responding to its own buttons on side of tv. Then the 2009 one stopped responding to older remote and is iffy with its own remote. Hence my opinion that durability is questionable. You wont see many vad reviews coz most people just trash it and buy another given that many buy it under $300 or maybe $199 on black Friday.
A decent LCD TV for the price My husband I received this television as a gift. It was a definite upgrade from our previous oldschool boxy tv. I think it's a fair TV for the price. The picture is decent but doesn't completely compare with the higherend models in terms of color and clarity. I think the placement of the HDMI cable is somewhat awkward. We have our television mounted on the wall and it is very difficult to access the HDMI port on our model. I wish it was located on the side like our component and video cables are.If you're looking for a decent basic HDTV without all of the expensive bells and whistles this one can certainly get the job done. We've had ours for almost two years now without any problems.

PLEASE do yourself a favor and AVOID this product and Dynex products at all costs.I bought this television for my parents for this past Christmas. On April 15th less than FOUR MONTHS after purchase they called to tell me the TV wasn't receiving power. I bought a 2yr warranty from Best Buy and for anything 32 inches or larger they offer home visits to fix the product. Except that's for ALL OTHER BRANDS except Dynex for them it's 37 inches or larger. So instead my parents had to drive the TV to a Best Buy an hour away and Dynex's turnaround time on getting it fixed is TWO WEEKS.Honestly I'm completely blown away by this entire experience. It's amazing to me that a brand new TV could break so soon after purchase. it speaks to the miserable quality and attention to detail that Dynex puts into their products.

spend more on a better brand or less on a Vizio Had this tv for about a week and kept trying to give it the benefit of the doubt but from what I have read Philips just cannot make good tv's. The picture was not up to par with other tv's in the same price/size range.More importantly there seems to be a major issue with their HDMI inputs. When hooked up to my cable box via HDMI the tv took around 45 seconds to display the picture after powering on and the sound would never come on the only solution was to unplug the HDMI and plug it back in. Now most people would say it must be a problem with your cable box but the same box worked fine on my 2006 Dell brand LCD tv and works perfectly fine on the new Sony LCD that I purchased to replace this pile. Furthermore a friend of mine purchased this tv at the same time as me. Using a different cable box had the same problem and he ended up returning his as well.Avoid this tv and don't be taken in by the price point. Purchase a better brand for slightly more or if money is the deciding factor go with a Vizio instead. You'll save even more and maybe it will work. The only upside to buying this tv for me was that I had no hassles in returning it.

Pictures is as beautiful & sharp as ever. No disappointment or surprises there. Soundwise a little disappointing at first. Based on some of the older dvd movie soundtrack at times I've to turn the volume way up to get decent sound. But when I go out and bought a brand new Madonna Italy concert dvd the sound was excellent. So I guessed it all depends on the soundtrack that comes w/ the dvd. TV reception is good and clear.
No sounds New to Refurbished TV Although the price was reasonable this is an awful LCD TV and Phillips approved Technician confirmed and stated that themselves. Upon arrival the sounds didn't work properly. When you power on the unit you get no sounds until you raised the level to 5255 and would explode out and you have to lower it quickly. That was the only way to get the sounds to work. Contacted Phillips immediately within 2 weeks after 3 service trips by their local technician Tops Electronics horrible service by the way Phillips decided to replace my BRAND NEW LCD TV with a Refurbished TV. I have argued with them and they refused to replace it with a new unit.

The TV also has a black that really seperate the colors to leap off the scree. The inputs are adequate and the remote design is good but would prefer backlighting. My first review with Amazon and I could not have picked a better product to have written about.
Philips rocks AWESOME HDTV A+++ first off i love the look of this tv the glassy look to the frame is a plus also the sound quality is awesome i dont need to use speaker system to make it sound good as it has plenty of power the pic quality is also amazing i have digital cable and i took out the cable box because it ruined my pic quality i plug right into the wall and i go extra HD channels from Comcast which i dont have to pay for i dont know how but it happened and only certain HDTVs can do this the remote is also very nice and easy to use and not too bulky i used to own a samsung which are great tvs but the remote was massive this one has a remote the size of a wii remote which is good if u have small hands.

Great Product Previous reviews assisted me in purchasing this wall mount. I have never used a wall mount before and thought I would give it a try. This mount really fit the bill. It was easy to hang and is really sturdy. The best part about it wasn't only that it's sturdy and well built but was the price. I agree with previous reviews you'll want to have your own level handy just to double check. But overall a good product.
Great Cheap Mount I was expecting something not as good as what I received. Good metal good hardware easy to install. Comes with a cheap level and hdmi cable. I was unable to hit a stud used the included plastic spreader sleeve deals and have had no problems. My 32 screen weighs about 25 lbs. It was easy to attach the screen to the mount. Connect all your cables before attaching to wall. Makes final setup go smoothly. Took me less then 30 minutes.You will want a drill bits socket set ratchet small hammer perhaps a better level then the one provided a marker and philips head screw driver to attach mount and lock down the screen.Would rec. to anyone with experience hanging anything level.
Great Product from Amazon I really like this product and I am glad that I did not have to pay a lot of money for a quality product to hold my flat screen TV.
Good mount for room. Good mount for the price holds my 32 flat screen easy install with a level built in. Does not rotate side to side only up and down. Good for bedrooms that only need a tv to stay in one spot.
