    • Great overall purchase I bought this TV a few weeks ago when the price was down to 489 couldn't pass it up there were no sales taxes or shipping charges so the purchase was an easy decision after looking around online and in tech. stores.The Net TV wireless internet access works well and I can connect to Netflix and YouTube easily. The picture set up is userfriendly but if you're like me and like to tweak the picture a bit more after the initial installjust go to the menu and happy travels.I gave this a 4 star rating for two reasons 1 The MedicaConnect option for laptops is NOT compatible with Macs which was not advertised on Amazon and required some research. If you are planning to watch videos through your laptop or just browse the web using the big screen and have a Mac choose elsewhere.2 The other fault I found is with the difficulty of screwing in coax cables for cable or antenna TV the input is vertical with the TV and placed around a plastic shell making it a bit difficult to screw the cables in this is a very minor detailHowever the USB port allows for easy video pic and audio access it only plays MP4 vids so get a converter on your computer if you want to watch MKV or AVI filesand the picture is EXCELLENT.Overall great value and great purchase.
    Good but some flaws Overall I'm pretty happy with the TV considering I paid less than $500 for a refurbished one. The time that the TV takes to start wasn't really a concern unlike some other reviewers here. My views are mainly based on the Net TV usage since I don't have cable hooked up to this TV.Pros Even though the speakers are on the back the sound quality is pretty awesome in my opinion for this type of TV. I haven't noticed any tinny sound. We have it sitting on a stand the box it came in lol about 3 inches from the wall. Smart TV Crisp picture with little to no motion blur.Cons Too many of the Net TV channels error out when you try to play them. Considering I bought this TV for our bedroom no cable and only use the Net TV this is really annoying. The Net TV GUI isn't the most intuitive or friendly interface. It doesn't appear to allow you to rewind or fast forward any vTuner videos/channels. You can't set the sleep function when you're using Net TV. You have to go back to the tuner set the sleep and then go back to Net TV. You can see white light bleeding at each corner of the TV on a black/dark screen. There's also blotches of white bleeding through on the entire screen that you can see on a black background and I can also faintly see it bleed through to the color. This is the biggest annoyance for me considering how great the picture would be w/o this flaw.If the TV didn't have the white light bleed I'd rate it a 4. If the Net TV wasn't as buggy & I could set the sleep function from anywhere I'd give it a 5.
    Very good TV Its a very good TV great picture and sound. connect easily to WIFI internet. some reviews said that its slow when start or turn off but for me i found it normal not fast and not slow too it maybe doesn't contains too many HDMI inputs but its not that big deal. as a conclusion am very happy with this TV.
    Awesome Prouduct !!! While searching for a 40 LED TV I was about to spend around $900.00 to purchase one. We threw DISH Network out of our house in Decemebr because they kept raising their monthly fee and really didn't have much to offer in the way of programming. Local cable MEdiacom is equally as bad.My original intent was to connect this new TV to my laptop with an HDMI cable so we could watch Netflix.
    Great product Very nice TV. Great buy for the money. I would recommend it to everyone. Great picture and sound. The sound has a surround sound feel to it.
    Love it! I purchased this tv after Christmas and it is awesome! Perfect picture wifi works greatnetflix and lots of other apps. I couldn't be happier and it was a breeze to hook up. I have absolutely no complaints.
    Amazing TV This tv is amazing awesome picture and great network options speakers are awesome. Only thing missing from the tv is digital audio input or output.
    Cannot Fault this TV Great value HD TV very easy to set up and connect online. I found the sound was a little inconsistent volume wise but after running a software update that issue disappeared.The start up time that others have reported was not an issue for me approx 5 seconds is nothing!!!.Netflix works seamlessly on my modest 2MB home internet connection.All in all a great value product definitely recommended.
    philips 40pfl4706 I just purchased this TV in February of 2012. This model comes with the WiFi LAN adapter which makes the TV Wifi ready . It is Internetenabled and does access online content but does not offer full web browsing capability. Contrary to some comments the Wifi MediaConnect operates just fine know how to configure your firewall setting to allow incoming/out communication between the the tv and pc.
    Philips customer services sucks I am writing this review without ever having turned this television on. I am doing so because I have owned this product for over five weeks and have yet to receive all of the components necessary to turn it on. I received the package with a television and stand but no screws power cord or remote control. I have called many many times and each time I am told the parts are on their way. Spoke to a manager today and they just repeated that there is nothing they can do they have sent the order to the parts department and that is that. Rad. Thanks Philips. My $600 box is looking sweet leaning against a wall in my basement.

    • I will never by a Coby product again It came broken. I returned it and got a Toshiba for the same price at Best Buy. So you really don't have to buy from a crap manufacturer like Coby to get a cheap TV.

    ok for the price If you want cheap you get it. I could not get the sound to go above a whisper using the hdmi cord and had to return it. Great return policy so I agreed to try a second unit. Same problem but at least with this one I can hear my dvd's and streaming netflix through the component cords. Picture is pretty good for a cheap tv. I am still puzzled why the sound is terrible though the hdmi ports. And I checked my blu ray player by attaching it to my other tv and it is fine so it has to be this tv. The sound is ok with the over the air. Just in case you were wondering I did spend quite a few hours on the phone with tech support for both the tv and the blu ray player to see if I could resolve it without returning it.
    The right price Wanted to upgrade an old 36 tv. The Colby was on sale at the right price and lower than several other places.
    You get what you pay for We bought two for different rooms. Price was $199 at Herbergers. Remote from one of them doesn't work. We were able to program both from the other remote but now looking for universal remote. Also one of the boxes damaged but tv is ok.
    good but not without it's problems We have had this TV for a couple of months now. The picture is nice but the audio is a little tinny like other reviewers have stated. The biggest issue we have has been a malfunction with the TV which started about 34 weeks after purchase. About once a week the TV will not turn on and we have to unplug it so it will reset. I have contacted the manufacturer who said this is a common problem. The TV has a 1 year warranty so it is covered for parts and labor if we want to pay to ship it there and send an additional $30 for return shipping. I would choose another set if I could return this one but I'm stuck with it.
    Junk Bought this TV and the Volumn button stopped working on the remote so I purchased 3 remotes from Coby and NONE worked. So I went to the side of the TV where the buttons were located. None of thoses worked.
    It's ok I've had this TV for a few months. For the price that I paid for it's ok. The picture quality is great but this TV set has a few problems. The volume no matter how high you turn it is barely audible. The controller isn't sensitive at all sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. There is also no audio jack to install portable speakers.
    Don't expect much from this one. I received this tv as a gift. I don't really like it but it's ok for a spare room or bedroom if you are not too concerned with picture quality or volume. This tv is absolutely not for those looking for high quality or even middling HD movie or game playing.Pros This tv is a very light flat screen lcd. It can easily be carried around to multiple rooms and has a relatively low profile for sitting on a dresser or desk. It has 3 HDMI and 2 Component for HD sources. The built in tuner works fine for me with an antenna. Depending on your reception and location this can vary.Cons The picture quality is passable. In my eyes the colors are not accurate I see a red push. Blacks are not very deep and combined with a bad viewing angle the picture looks washed out almost everywhere you sit. Movies and games with dark scenes are very hard to watch or play. There are not a lot of options on the set that would help you mitigate any of these problems. The picture is not very sharp. This is especially evident with console gaming. There is lots of blooming and it reminds me of playing on a traditional SD tube tv. Also this set is not 1080p. It my be able to take a 1080p signal and downconvert it to 720p but you are not viewing a true 1080p picture. The volume is incredibly loud. Even on the lowest possible setting this tv will be too loud for discreet viewing if you have spouse or roommate who is trying to sleep.
    Terrible sound and color. We purchased this TV before Christmas last year 2010. At first the color was okay but it quickly diminished and is very dark even after adjusting the settings. The sound quality has always been terrible. Even when it is turned up you hear some things but it seems that the background noise think music soundtrack whatever else is going on is always louder than the actual speech and/or actor voices. We are very disappointed with this purchase. We will not buy Coby products again w/o first seeing/testing the product inperson.

    • black horizontal line i have had this tv for about 3 months now and a black line recently appeared across the middle of the screen from left to right. I immediately called amazon and was directed to call samsung because the amazon return window is only 30 days. The agent i spoke with from samsung was actually pretty helpful and set me up with a repair company near my home. The service tech called a couple of days later and set up an appointment with me. When he came out he diagnosed the problem but was told by samsung to try a cheaper fix first and when he finally got the part in he came out and replaced what samsung wanted him to with no avail. the black line still exists.
    Steal of a Deal My family had been waiting for a couple of years for the prices to drop on the larger Plasma television and once it was within our price range we jumped on it. Amazon gave us FREE SHIPPING omg right? it took two weeks and then the delivery people scheduled an appointment to drop it off. The purchase was pain free and my family is 100% satisfied with this product. BE SURE TO buy a surge protector to protect your investment. This TV has network capabilities for things like netflix.
    Samsung warrenty I bought this Television in June 2010. Has a spider crack on the inside of the glassno damage to outside of TV. Samsung refuses to honor 1 year warranty. They claim it is physicial damage even though there is no damage to outside of screen. Look online for reviews before buying a Samsung product. Buyers are posting online this same problem about TV and Samsung refuses to honor their warranties.I Have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and I have posted on Samsungs web site.
    Don't buy Samsung they don't stand by their products I have a 4mth. old samsung 50 plasma tv. I was watching tv when a heard a loud sound. The screen went black. When I went up to the tv I noticed a star crack in the inner screen. I googled the problem to see what caused this to happen. To my surprise this is a very common problem among samsung plasma tv's. I also found out that Samsung will not cover this even though it is a common problem and the tv is under 1 year old. Best Buy where we bought the tv with the extended warranty won't help either. Now we are out over $1000 including warranty. Thanks Samsung for backing your product. You surely show how you care about your customers. YOU DON'T BACK your products and you Do Not care about your customers.
    Movie watching at home has never been better This is a tv that I traded for a Panasonic 42 in its class after doing much research. I wanted the best plasma tv out there without 3D feature and I believe I got it. At list if not I am certainly satisfied.
    Right up there with the class leaders. Im a Home theater enthusiast and i love watching movies at home. So when I go to buy a new product I want the best I can afford. This is my first plasma HDTV. I was a little hesitant at first about buying a plasma display because of the negative issues of image burnin and colors washing out basiclly i thought they had a short life span. But those where old problems faced by earlier plasma displays which have long since been resolved. This HDTV far exceeded my expectations.
    Astonishing TV This is a great TV. Like many others here I did a lot of research before making this investment. I am one of those oddballs who is either a superearly adopter or I wait as long as possible for things to shake out. I bought our first DVD player when they were still very expensive and people would come over just to see the picture. With the TV though I waited until just this past Christmas to move from the CRT to flatpanel.It was worth the wait. I now have this giant beautiful screen which is amazing for movies and games alike. I should say that it was almost a serious problem on the wife appeal front until she saw the picture. Full disclosure Santa Claus lost his mind and bought this WITHOUT EXECUTIVE APPROVAL. It arrived on Christmas eve with the help of two neighbors. So Mrs. Claus freaked out for about two weeks. But now she loves it. Oh yeah we had to blitzremodel our family room to suit the new TV. That helped.On the buzz question. I was worried about this. I am a hifi stereo fiend and had an electrician run a dedicated circuit just to keep the buzz out of my stereo. I hate unnecessary noise. When I get a hotel room that is the first thing I check. No HVAC noises or ice machine down the hall. So this TV does make noise but nothing you will hear if you are actually watching TV or a movie. Fear not.
    Great picture Very pleased with this purchase. Picture is great excellent features. Love the size of the screen not too big but just right.
    POS This was an awesome TV. That is until the warranty expired and the engineered obsolescence kicked in. I've had this TV for about a year and a half handled and installed it properly kept good care of it in a 65º room which this TV actually keeps heated in the winter another great <sarcasm> feature and now I'm getting vertical lines of bad pixels. I've also had power supply issues which I found out were quite common on these sets although I got lucky and it magically started working again make sure you keep it on a protected outlet with no high draw devices like a fan that was what caused it. I also found the buttons on the front impossible to use although you could hardly call them buttons more like areas of pressure influence if you're lucky and have good eyes. Anyway I would tell you to stay away from samsung products especially plasmas but honestly I don't think I've seen anything these days that is made well. Every major TV is made to last just past the warranty period and if you're lucky maybe a couple more years. Start planning for $800/year for your tv needs.
    Excellent An amazing TV. We use it in a bedroom that has low light and the color reproduction is outstanding. The grays/black are near perfect and watching HD sports really shows this TV's capabilities.We do not use the other features network stream apps etc as we use an Apple TV2 to connect to the internet.As far as the primary purpose of a TV show/hear images it is the best TV we and our guests have seen.

    Great Picture Poor Sound The picture quality with my HD programming is flawless but the sound quality is poor the speakers make annoying noise even when the volume is less than half way. Also the processor for internet access is pretty slow. I have an apple TV as well works much faster.
    Beautiful Picture Excellent Television I was getting rid of an old Mitsubishi Projection LED seemed to be the rage at this point so I did some homework and purchased this T.V.First off the picture is beautiful the viewing angle could be better but is decent. The vast amount of tweaking and options for this set is great you can brighten darken change all kinds of things in between. It also has BDWise which lets it speak to other Samsung devices BluRay players etc.. and pick the best picture quality.Some people complain about the AutoMotion Plus feature but I think it's amazing. When the setting is enabled it makes the visuals look filmed with a home video camera/soap opera almost too smooth. It will take some getting used to but is ideal for new BluRays and great fast moving action films.
    Exceptional value for your dollar sans SVideo This TV is incredibly thin produces incredible images and is priced very well. There are two downsides to this unit NO svideo input and the speakers suck you HAVE to get a sound system anyway to experience movie theater like quality. Other than that it works well very easy and simple to use and looks beautiful whether on or off.
    Never worked Recieved tv through modia from AMAZON what a nightmarebought as gift for sisterwhy amazon uses modia is beyond mecompany stinksthis is the 4th tv i purchased from amazon no one from amazon has even called me about this problem..will never use amazon again..

    • Great affordable HDTV I ordered this tv about 6 months ago because I wanted a tv to go in my bedroom in my apt. At the time it was on sale for $300 on Amazon so I couldn't resist and I'm glad I got it. I use it for watching movies from my laptop I have it hooked up using HDMI over the air broadcasts most of the channels come in HD and look amazing! and playing my good old gamecube. I shall break this review down into a few categories video quality audio quality ease of use and features.Video QualityThis is a 32 in LCD 720p display television and it honestly looks really good. There are various picture settings that come standard such as Sports movies video game i think? and some others. I don't really remember right now but they basically change the color and brightness settings of the display. You can also do this manually and set it however you personally like and after messing around with it for a short while I got it looking just how I wanted it. Don't waste your money on a 1080i/p 32 in tv at this size their is no noticeable difference in quality and 720p looks great. Again I'm no snob when it comes to TVs but all the movies/shows/games I've watched on this look great.Audio QualityAll I'm going to say is it's good not amazing but if you expect the standard speakers on any tv to blow you away then you're always going to be disappointed.
    Good But Not Great Needs Calibration. Don't but this expecting to be blown away by the clarity. This is a midrange and you get what you pay for which was $309 during Black Friday for me. This is a very good TV in HD but if you're watching in SD expect brown looking colors and an ugly picture.The reason I knocked this HDTV down to a 3 stars instead of 5 is because of motion blur. Fast movements blacks on white and around the eyes you'll notice motion blur which can sometimes look like a red looking hue. I can't tell that a firmware update did anything to help. But I have the calibration set where you can now see very little motion blur which is the main reason I'm writing this review.Here are my settingsContrast 100Backlight 80 this will help blacks look darkerDyna Light On this also helps get blacks darkerBrightness 4550 I set mine to 45 anything higher than 50 looks washed outColor 55Tint 0 set it how you like I prefer to leave it at 0Sharpness 12Dynamic Contrast Low the reason I set this to low is because shadows in hair looks more natural but you can set it how you likeStatic Gamma 3 this seems to be the thing that most gets rid of the motion blur and why I set my brightness to 45Temp. CoolB drive 15 most people won't notice a difference hereG drive 15 most people won't notice a difference hereOverall I'm happy with my Toshiba HDTV with the settings I have. The motion blur was so bad that I was disappointed even considering returning but with the calibration settings so far so good. This a great tv for a bedroom or small living room.I also have a PS3 and haven't noticed much motion blur in games it also has a gaming mode.
    Really nice tv I'm not an electronics expert but I bought this thing nearly a year ago and have had no problems whatsoever. It's a truly nice tv and the base it comes with is sturdy.I was surprised to find when it arrived that it is widescreen though. Maybe I was sent the wrong kind? Oh well it's still a nice tv either way. Doesn't bother me.
    New TV! This television replaced an old regular BIG FAT TV that weighed so much it took two people to place it into our cabinet.
    Good TV at a good price I was planning on getting a 26 inch tv but came across this 32 inch Toshiba in an open box sale. I was able to get it for less than a lot of 26 inch televisions and couldn't pass it up! After I confirmed the order I started getting nervous because a lot of people complained about the audio. Unless you expect rich theater sound from your tv don't listen to these people. I was able to adjust the treble and bass to my liking and it sounds just fine. If you want thumping bass and rich sound hook it up to your amp.This tv replaces a 19 inch in our bedroom and we absolutely love it. The picture is clear and what you would expect from a 720p HDTV. Much to my surprise it was even able to tune into the HD channels on my basic cable subscription. My 56 inch doesn't even do that although I did buy it 5 years ago and the standards may have changed since then.If you're looking for a good tv at a bargain price even at full price then consider this one. I think you'll be more than satisfied.
    Love My Refurbished Toshiba 32100U 32 LCD HDTV!!!!! A little over a month ago I was still watching television on a 23 year old analog TV hooked up to a government supplied HDTV converter box. Why? Well with all the times I had put the old thing in storage when I was out of town I guess it was I was trying to amortize all the years of storage I'd paid on the beast.Recently I had purchased a nifty Home Theater System a Philips unit which cost more than my 32 Toshiba flat screen!!! from Amazon and now was positively ITCHING to get a large screen flat TV. I virtually slobber at all the stuff there is to buy at Amazon and lo and behold I found this great Toshiba flat screen for under $200!!!! Now it's a refurbished model but that means it has been thoroughly tested and works fine and has essentially the same warranty which allows you to save hundreds. For my old analog TV I paid over $500 USD in 1988 dollars.Love the clarity vibrancy and detail of the picture in broadcast modes it has a kickass tuner that picks up every single station in my area and I live in an urban area surrounded by high rise buildings my old DVDs have revealed detail that I haven't even noticed when I've seen the same film on the big screen on a new 70mm print BluRay is a revelation..totally amazing. Even if you buy one brand new at retail price in the $350$450 range it's money well spent.My only beef is the positioning of the directional arrow controls and ENTER button. Most of the functions it supports are near the top of the remote control and some yahoo at Toshiba Information Systems decided to put it down at the bottom which by the time I get my glasses on and get ready to select the direction I want the cursor to go and then hit ENTER the damn thing has already recycled off the popup screen I wanted to navigate through. Frustrating but I'm getting the hang of it.
    Lacks A Small Feature I'm not a technology hound nor do I have the budget for an expensive HDTV. I've had this Toshiba unit since the end of November 2010 and it suits my simple needs. The screen is very clear and the colors are vibrant especially at 1080i yes it does 1080i. The sound can be a little quiet but I don't mind.I have two little complaints about this TV but what can I expect for getting it a tad over $300? The first complaint is that there is no clock/time function at least I can't find it anywhere within the menu or manual. I can't simply press a button to figure out what time it is. Not a big deal but it would have been nice to be able to do this. I guess I'll have to look at my watchThe second complaint is the number of inputs it has on the back. I have to keep plugging/unplugging my DVD player and yes my VCR. Again I'm a technology laggard and my children still love watching the VHS tapes so we haven't ditched the VCR yet. I have yet to purchase an HD DVD player so I haven't really used this TV to its full potential.Allinall I'm happy with this HDTV. If you're looking for an almost barebones entry level HDTV this is a good choice.
    Quality Television!! This television has a lot of options and settings!! Great picture and sound quality! Picture is crystal clear and sound is great! It has built in surround sound which is a plus. This hdtv really stands out! A lot of ports and connections so you can hook up anything! Well worth the money.
    Tv good menu bad This tv works very well good picture and sound. The big problem is the very annoyingch set up menu. Can't add or delete channels without having to scan all channels.

    • trouble with wall mounting!!! I purchased this TV for the appearance the slimmer bezel caught my attention was going to wall mount this set to use it as a computer monitor. The problem with this set as mentioned before in another review is that the mounting screws that comes with the mount Sanus model f18
    Great Buy audio out is my only complaint We were looking for a TV for the spare bedroom and settled on 32 being a good size to grab. After comparing all available sets in this size this one stood out the most. It has a great thin profile 1.25 which worked great for mounting it on the wall the picture clarity was far greater than any of the cheaper similar sets with a dynamic motion contrast ratio of 200001 vs most cheaper sets offering 6 to 10000.
    Reasons to pass on this TV The edges of the display are brighter than the rest of the picture. Software upgrades do not fix this. It might be a factory default. I have not yet contacted Samsung. One of my favorite things to do in my spare time is talk to out of country customer service reps. Those people really care. Also the speakers are crap. They don't produce any bass. None. It's like listening to the radio on my alarm clock. FYI I don't like listening to the radio on my alarm clock. Don't buy this TV. What should you buy? The search continues. P.S.
    good one hello. i don't know much about tvs except for the regular stuff that you gotta research before buying. anyways i bought this because my old refurbished panasonic flatpanel died out on me after only 1 year. it's been a couple months now and this samsung works awesome. i haven't really played games on it yet. so far i only connected it to my laptop to watch movies need a hdmi cable for that i don't think it comes with one but picture is bright and how it should be.. can't complain. sound is good and clear to me but i use the tv in my personal room so there's not much noise going on except the tv and a medium sized desk fan.i bought this during the holiday season for 350..

    Samsung's Lousy Customer Support Picture was better than I thought possible from a 720p TV. Really liked the thin form factor.Unfortunately the Over the Air and Cable tuner didn't work. Samsung's Technical Support gave me the runaround. Fortunately the seller's support was fantastic so I returned it.I submitted a bad review on Samsung's site and they denied posting it because it didn't meet their standards. I have purchased several Samsung products $5000+ the last few years but now I've lost all confidence in the company.update Three weeks after contacting Samsung's technical support I'm getting Samsung replacement parts delivered to my home. Only problem is the part are for a Samsung REFRIGERTAOR!! Absolutely ponderous.
    TV review I have never purchased a large electronic piece off of the internet so I wasn't sure what I would be getting. The ordering process was easy the television arrived as promised in perfect conditon and I am a very happy customer.
    great tv just check the settings The TV is a great size for my bedroom and I got it at a more than reasonable price of $300. The screen is very bright and the sound is really good though not necessarily fantastic. The colors aren't amazing either but they're as good as most flat screens of this size. The blacks aren't that dark and you can definitely see edge lighting when the images on screen get darker which kind of upsets me. It's not so much that it's distracting but it's still clearly noticeable. Although the color quality isn't the best the definition of the images is fantastic. The bezel is small and looks very nice as does the stand a trait that I've found is mostly consistent in Samsung TVs. The TV itself is also very lightweight and extremely easy to set up.If you don't really care about color quality contrast ratio or deep blacks this is a great TV.
    Great tv for the price Its not the greatest tv. But you will enjoy it for the price. I bought it in november and I must say I been happy with it. To all the people complaining about the lack of connections for your surround sound there's a solution. I used my stereo audio splitter cable for my turtle beach headset and was able to connect my speakers to the tv.[] that's the link for the splitter cable. I have my ps3 my 360 and my speakers connected to it and it's great. It's also fairly decent for gaming.

    • Great Picture and Input offering I've done countless hours of research for TV's and it seems that everything changes with each year of new products coming out. What I've come to realize is that it is very hard to compare models from brand to brand or even within the same brand. What you have to do is figure out what type of inputs you need and what type of setting your TV will be in and go from there.With that being said I have a well lit room with lots of windows and an open area with viewing from straight on and from both sides. Each viewing seat is about 1012 feet from the TV and it is mounted to a wall 5 feet from bottom of TV to floor. All of my components go through a receiver and surround sound system so I don't use the built in TV speakers. I've had this TV for over a year now. The picture has been great and it works perfectly with all of my components. I've had absolutely no problems with the TV so far in regards to pixels going out or changes in tint sharpness or clarity. BluRays video games and HD channels with Direct TV all look great.I would recommend this TV if it is even still available to purchase. I'm sure it would be much cheaper now than when I bought it. If not you can't go wrong with the Bravia TV's. Just make sure you look at the number and types of inputs you need before purchasing. There are usually 34 different models within the same size range that are the same TV except for inputs and other internet/wifi related addons. For a main living room TV that stuff might be important but for a bedroom TV you may not need all that stuff.
    great picture clarity nice frame around the LCD Sony makes a great product in 99% of the times I have purchased from them. I would like to point out a very important fact about LCD TVs. The border makes a huge difference. I didn't notice this until I went into the store. This border is not super reflective like some of the other brands. The picture quality is what you would expect from Sony awesome. And I will be buying another one for my bedroom.
    Best bang for the buck if you can find it! Got the 2month old demo at Pacific Sales for $750 after arguing with the wench manager of Best Buy Fullerton who wanted $1699 for the discontinued model.The difference between Best Buy and Pacific Sales is nightandday.Got the same TV albeit a 2monthold demofor less than half. Bought 5year extended warranty for $170 so out the door with tax warranty and free delivery although we packed in our RAV4 for less than a grand out the door.Black levels equal to any TV features as well.Not LED so energy cost will be an extra $1 per month.Would have bought on Amazon if I got the same or better deal.Just ordered Kindle Touch.
    A Steal Of A Deal Wasn't shopping for an LCD TV when I came across this model at Target on floor display closeout at $497.The picture quality is excellent. The sound from the built in speakers is adequate at best hooked up through my 5.1 Dolby Surround systemmuch better.Would highly recommend this Sony model to anyone that is looking in the 55 size class.
    Avoid SONY at all cost too much $$$ for Chinese junk I paid $2500 LCD that went bad due to an optical block. A problem that has brought them several class action lawsuits. AVOID Sony at all cost. It's too much for a piece of Chinese junk. Sony offered it to me and then change the price on me last minute. Sony is a sick Japanese company now. It is no longer the Sony that I knew with their Walkman.This TV is blurry. It is made out of cheap plastic. The volumn is terrible. Pictures are slow to come on. Can't watch sports due to blurriness too. Save your money and go somewhere else.Sony has these reps kept calling me not knowing what's facts to tell me. One tells me something then another one calls me to tell me something else.Stay away from Sony. It is NOT worth your money and time.
    Do yourself a favor and avoid any Sony TV I bought a new 52 in. XBR9 back in Oct. 2009 for $1900 and the LCD panel has already gone bad after 22 months. Cost to fix = $2800! I called Sony and they could care less! Offered to sell me another set for a reduced price. I wouldn't spend another penny on their products! Look elsewhere.
    Great TV I bought a Samsung DLP TV in 2008 and this Sony absolutely blows it away. The picture is awesome and you won't find a better TV for the price. I'll never buy a Samsung again.The item shipped from Focus Camera. My contact there was a nice guy who was very helpful. The only issue I had was the delivery company they hired sent me a postcard to set up a delivery date instead of calling me so I suggest aggressively pursuing them the day it ships to make sure there are no delays.

    Dependable and Great Picture! We purchased a Sony 55 inch Bravia almost five years ago and we have not had any problems whatsoever! The picture quality is great good sound with and without extra amplification nice controls easy installation by myself and it has been used a lot over the years.

    • Everything You Want This is a great LCD TV. I along with many friends notice that most regular LCD TVsincluding this one have a much better look than the high contrasting LED TVs. The picture wizard is absolutely AMAZING! The apps are fun but pretty much pointless if you have a gaming console. I use this TV for gaming and for a screen to play movies from my laptop and it does both of these with ease. I have to say that LG's remote is a notch above many other remotes. It is simple yet it allows you to do so much. LG's interface when accessing settings and advanced options is great. This TV is 120Hz this is said to be the highest possible refresh rate the human eye can notice. The only reason anyone should buy 240Hz is for a 3D TV it has to render 2 pictures 120Hz & 120Hz.The one piece of advice I can give to you if you're looking to get this TVor any other actually is to make sure to buy good quality HDMI cables. I actually find that HDcomponent cables work better but that is just my preference.I honestly believe that LG is one of the best LCD brands out there.
    Nice TV with small issues Seller was great item arrived a little late but in perfect condition. Now the item itself is great but the internet apps are few not supported and there is no update. If you are looking for internet TV go get a Samsung because LG don't care about their costumers and don't add apps. If you are asking about the quality picture sound menu it's a great buy and the price is awesome!!One more thing when you set the picture preferences and sound for one channel it will take it to every other channel you switch too. I am not sure it's a defective other than it's a function should be there memory for each channel.One word Nice TV.
    3 Months and it's broke now I bought this tv at the end of January. I've loved it up until now as it has broken now. The tuner has gone out of it and now I get to own a 3 month old repaired tv that I paid a new price for.The tv itself has been great I love all the features and the picture is awesome.
    Better than sex! Welllllll not quite. But it's great! I can't say enough about this TV. Here's the pros The picture is incredible. Blurays look absolutely stunning. I get compliments from all my friends. The USB port plays EVERY VIDEO FILE I'VE TRIED even HD MKV files. I use it constantly. I use Netflix all the time too. Very easy to use. Looks amazing too. I also often hook my laptop up using HDMI and it looks fantastic. The remote and menus are easy to use. The intelligent light sensor is always correct. I never have to adjust the settings.Only con Netcast needs an update bad! They need to add Hulu Amazon Pandora etc. I have a Roku 2 on my other TV which takes care of that and when I need it I just switch it. But it would be really nice to not have to move it.
    Good quality for the price This was my first HDTV purchase and in fact my first television purchase ever so I comparison shopped for months before finally settling on this model in Feb '11. As someone who knows very little about electronics and technical specs I wanted to get the best quality for my money without paying for a lot of extras I will never use. I also didn't want to spend a lot of money for something I only use occasionally. I did want something uptodate with streaming capabilities as that's my primary source of entertainment.This TV has suited those needs perfectly. It was delivered exactly within the scheduled delivery window and brought inside to my second floor apartment. The deliveryman did tell me that they are generally required to take the TV out of the box and turn it on to demonstrate that it works but that he couldn't because it was so cold outside that the tv had to warm up for an hour or two before I could plug it in. I was a little nervous to hear that but he left I waited several hours then took out the TV and plugged it in. Worked perfectly and I managed to set up the whole thing by myself in about an hour including screwing in the base connecting cable DVD player Netflix. I am NOT someone who is good at that sort of thing but I am impatient and wanted to try it out right away and it really was very easy. The manual is clear and straightforward and I had no problem finding what I needed to know.I did buy the separate wifi adapter for about $39 and it was very easy to plug in and get connected to my wireless network. I mostly watch Netflix movies etc though it would have been very nice to also be able to access Hulu Plus without buying additional electronics in the future. This is probably the only negative for me overall.As someone who is not electronically savvy I actually had no idea how big this screen was going to be. I thought my old TV a Sony nonflatscreen was about 30 and that I'd just be going a bit bigger. My significant other kept telling me that it had to be at least 42 anything smaller would be REALLY small. Well I might've known better! When I saw the size of the box my jaw dropped a little. I'm not a huge TV person and I live in a cozy Boston apartment so a reasonablesized TV is perfect. However I was pleasantly surprised by this screen size and have since been very pleased with it. I would NEVER have chosen this size if I had a better sense of how big it would actually be but it's totally worth the price and I'm very happy with it. If you have a lot of space or a really large family room etc perhaps this TV would be on the small side but if you are only sitting 1020 feet away from it the picture is great.
    Great TV for the price My family has owned this HDTV for almost 6 months and we love it. The picture quality is superb. We have the PS3 connected to this tv and the blueray movies look as if you are sitting in the theater. You will not go wrong if you purchase this HDTV.
    Failed after less than 9 months of use It worked fine for the first 8 month. Then no video blank screen but it makes good rario since audio is still there. It is a shame to see such a low quality from respectable manufacturer like LG.

    LG 42 LD550 I've had the this TV for 8 months. I wanted to wait awhile to see how things worked out. You don't write a review after having the TV for only a week.This being my first review of any product has to mean I'm impressed and I am.The image quality is great. The audio as I wear hearing aids. It might not sound as some audiophiles would want. It more then sounds good to me with or without the hearing aids. I was asked by a neighbor where are the speakers? He couldn't believe the sound quality not being hooked up to my stereo system. The sound quality is more then adequate. Anyone not likening the quality of sound is asking too much for a TV. If you want audio a 5.1 or 7.1 sound you have to purchase a sound system. Enough said about sound.The image quality is second to none. I've had LCD & LED TV¡¦s yes the LED is not as wide in diameter. And image quality is good. You are not going to get better image quality then this TV no matter the price. I don¡¦t care how much you spend. My son paid almost $2000 for his LCD TV a Sony my daughter and soninlaw paid over $3000 for there 55¡¦ LCD and my picture quality is as good or better. Matter of fact they tried to return theirs. But they already had it 4 months.Size that brings up a point I want to make. GET THE BIGGEST SIZE YOU AN AFFORD¡K and when you have that wait a little longer save a little more and get a bigger size. Don¡¦t let anyone tell you size doesn¡¦t matter. When it come to a HD TV º I have a 42¡¨ in my small living room. I¡¦m about 10¡¦ feet away. But if I move up 2¡¦ feet it makes a huge difference.     Tickled! My first review posted on any sitethis TV is worth the time! I did my homework before pulling the trigger and came up with a real winner. Picture is perfect and everyone who sees it agrees. I don't know about sound for surround sound or theater style viewing but it is great in my living room. Highly recommend this TVI even found a site that had reviews and one guy posted the settings that he found to work best. I applied those settings and could not be more pleased.

    waste of money Coby as a company and this TV in particular are the worst. I bought it because it was the perfect size for my home office. It has now lost 3 different channels press 3 and it goes to 3.1 press 55 and it goes to 46.1 press 6 and it goes to 4.1 ??????????I contacted Coby tech support and was told that it was my cable provider NOT I have 3 other TVs on the same provider and they have no problems. I was then told that I could send the set to Coby and they would see what they could do. I was promised that mailing info would be emailed to me never received.Please don't waste your money too.

    My Coby 23 LCD TV Stops Working in only 10 months For the first 10 months I was happy with my low priced COBY LCD TV. Then is just stopped working there had been no thunder storms for several days so it wasn't fried by lightning. It wouldn't turn on with either the remote or the set button. While it was working the picture quality and sound was satisfactory. I was annoyed that this was the first TV I have ever owned that would NOT work with any of the many universal remotes I owned. The warranty is only 90 days for parts and labor and 1 year for parts ONLY. It would cost me about about $70 to have this inferior TV repaired or replaced their option. With a 90 day warranty Coby obviously don't expect their TVs to last very long so I see no reason to invest more money in what seems to be an inferior product line. It seems to me that Coby is another line of cheap Chinese made products that I should avoid in the future.
    Works Great! We got this for my daughter for Christmas. She needed a new TV for her room and this one fit the bill. We were able to hook it up in less than five minutes and it has been working great ever since.
    Quality VS Price I expect reviews to reflect a customers view of the product without carrying a you get what you pay for edict. I suppose that means I was prepared to get a product that was satisfactory at best. I was wrong. This television has a terrible picture and the edges bleed white into the pictures six to seven inches. My window to return this item has passed so I plan on sticking it in the garage to watch while I avoid the aggravation I would feel sitting in my living room looking at this poor picture. I don't blame Amazon for this. The product was offered and I threw my money down. In short save yourself some mild kicking your self in the butt and spend a few more bucks and get a good TV.
    Quit working after 5 months. Was a great tv until it stopped working after just five months. It just won't turn on anymore. No matter what I do. Really disappointed in this product. Will never by this brand again.
    Big picture crap sound You really should test drive this before you buy it if you are planning to use the sound from the onboard speakers. Because not only are they quite faint but when you can hear them you'll realize it wasn't worth the effort. I seriously have to crank the volume all the way up to try and hear a movie. If you will only be running sound through a stereo or HT setup it might suffice.
    Wouldn't recommend I went through 2 COBY LEDTV2326 23 Inch 1080p LED HDTV/Monitors in less than 3 months.Purchased the first unit from a local store After two months the screen went blank and no sound. Purchased the second unit from here after One monthe the same thing happened. Received a refund for both purchases.The volume was sent on maximum and you could bearly hear the sound.Will not purchase a COBY product ever again.
