  • 10-Bit processing and Crystalucent coating Technology
  • 4 HDMI terminals, PC input, RS-232C Input, AQUOS Net, USB Photo Viewer
  • 4ms response time

  • Unbelieveably low power usage Great Picture Like D. Bortranger's earlier review I also hooked up a watt meter UPM model EM100 and received roughly the sameresults. Power saving off 98 watts but the picture highlights were overly bright to me.Standard power saving used around 80 watts picture was dimmed slightly bringing down the highlights to a proper levelby my eye. Advanced power saving OPC on standard settings min range 16 max range +8 functional setting was 50 wattsbut the picture was too dark so I increased the min range min range 6 max range +6 functional setting whichbrought the brightness up to an acceptable level for a dark room and the power usage up to only 67 watts! Now I just toggle between Standard and Advanced Power Saving depending on the room brightness.
Great Product We bought this TV about 9 Months ago from another site at a fantastic price. I could not be happier with it. People often think that Samsung is the ONLY way to go when purchasing flatscreens but that is so far from reality. The picture on this tv is fantastic hands down. We have a good friend that has an identically sized samsung with similar technology and it has an inferior picture. If you buy this sharp go online and search for the optimal settings CNET i think for this tv and go through them and tune it up makes a big difference. Oh and I don't hear a thing but the program im watching while this tv is on no hum buzz or anything. If you can hook up an external sound system the one on the tv is not adequate for most uses. If you give less of a rating for this however you shouldn't these tv's are not designed with sound in mind!!!The bluray picture is stunning rent or buy Planet Earth in bluray and your jaw will drop.
very pleased Picture is fantastic. Sound from the unit is not impressive but I hooked up a 35W sound bar & now it sounds great. The menu is laid out logically easy to use. The TV defaults to using a feature which changes the the backlight of the TV auto dims the TV based on the rooms ambient light. It kept switching levels so I just disabled this feature. If you're in a basement or another room which has a constant light level it may be a nice feature but I thought it was more annoying than useful. Anyways I was really just after a great picture and this Sharp delivered.
Great TV for the Price I love this television. Bought it about nine months ago and couldn't be happier. I too compared a lot of sets read all the reviews and came to the conclusion that this was a terrific deal. I love love love the picture quality. It's great for HD cable and superb for Blu Ray movies. I'm afraid if I hooked a game machine to it I'd become totally addicted. Can't comment on the sound quality. It's just fine for what I use it for and if I want higher sound quality one day I'll simply buy a sound system to go with it.Bought it through Amazon. No hassles delivered promptly and I had no trouble setting it up.
I love my sharp aquos LC46LE700UN I have this LED flat screen for a month now and i still love. Nothing wrong with this flat screen I don't hear any buzzing sound at all great contrast and not even a single dead pixel. If you can buy a home theater 5.1 system such as samsung under $300 from Sam's club it will make your flat screen so much a live as if you were in a movie theater.
NICE TELEVISION I purchased this television about a week ago and so far it has worked flawlessly. I was undecided on another LCD from Sammy or try an LED. Amazon made the decision for me when this Sharp model was suddenly lowered another 270 bucks in my shopping cart. The picture is very clear and consistent. There is no humming as reported by others. The speakers are fine but I do have the sound connected to a 5.1 system. It has an interesting energy saving switch on the remote which allows you to increase/decrease the brightness level on the LED's to conserve energy. I tend to like the standard setting the best. The Samsung does have some finer features such as a dust cloth an LED light on the t.v. to let you know you have power to the unit when plugged in and the ability for the T.V. to swivel on the base. Nonetheless this one is a keeper.
Thirty days and counting My family purchased this television to replace an old Mitsubishi CS35301 CRT so my impressions are relative to that model. We have owned this set for approximately one month. I have been using it to watch cable programming so I cannot comment about its offtheair reception DVDs via SVideo and to play video games on a Nintendo Wii console. One of the reasons I decided to go for the Sharp was its impressive energy efficiency as noted by several other reviewers and CNET. Another usability issue that others have mentioned but isn't usually highlighted is Sharp's excellent connectivity including legacy connectors such as SVideo which still comes in handy in my household as well as HDMI component and composite video. There's also a DSub for hooking up your computer. As far as picture goes the Sharp performs well. There are several settings that the user can adjust to his liking which makes the television all the more appealing to those looking for a set that they can configure to their exact specifications. Conveniently the television will remember different settings for different inputs so for example the settings I have for my DVD player and my game console are tailored precisely for each purpose. There is a relatively thick paper manual that offers the same helpful information in English French and Spanish. Speaking of which for multilingual families you can change the language of the menus to any of those three options. Something else I find handy is that you can adjust the manner in which closed captions are displayed. Rather than having a solid black background and white text chosen by default you can make the background solid translucent or transparent change its color and change the font's color among other settings.I do notice a buzz coming from the speakers whenever the volume is at a certain point typically set to between 1 and 15. Muting the television or setting the sound level to 0 eliminates the hum while it is drowned out by the sounds of the television program above 15. Luckily we have a stereo system that we've connected to the television working around this problem. As far as sound quality goes it is passable though not up to par even with our old Mitsubishi's builtin speakers. Still this speaker buzz is quieter than the CRT buzz from the Mitsubishi.
a long time coming Great picture and off angle viewing. I knew I wanted a TV I do not want to sit directly in front of to see the great picture. This TV exceeds the expectations. I would buy again and have recommended to others. A friend of mine purchased the 52 in version and is very happy also.
It is the worst!!!!! Lost colors no RED TAN YELLOW. It really sucks only 2 years old. If you but this but the exteneded warranty for model LC46LE700UN.
It's ALL about the picture! A very underrated TV. Incredible picture! Light weight due to LED backlighting. One of the few fullarray units still on the market! Most are now edgelit which in effect is light Christmas lights around a windowbright edges but dark center! Does not make sense and only being done to satisfy consumer demand for sexythin TV's.The Picture is near perfect. Solidly built unit however Sharp could have done better with the stand. Overall photo's of this unit do not do itjustice it looks gorgeous! Piano black finish will scratch so use a swiffer duster on it! The remote uninspiring works well. Lots of HDMI ports and onscreen menus are clear and easy to use. Lots of adjustments can be made with picture quality.Sound is from ten watt speakers. Obviously designed to hookup to home theater sound system. Easy PC HDMI hookup is impressive. The AquosNet ethernet works well but there is really no content to even bother with. At least you can can live customer support from it.

VIZIO XVT423SV 42 Inch Internet Application Broke after one year and a few days

  • VIZIO Internet AppsTM
  • Bluetooth Universal Remote Control
  • Built-in WiFi 802.11n dual-band
  • 240Hz refresh rate
  • TruLEDTM backlighting with Smart Dimming (128 zones)

  • BUYERS BEWARE DO NO BUY A VIZIO!!! BUYERS BEWARE DO NO BUY A VIZIO!!! Vizio TV's are cheap and they appear to give you the biggest bang for your buck but they simply to no work as promised. I purchased a Vizio XVT553SV which at the time was their flagship model. Immediately it had video artifacts/flickering on every input Dish PS3 media player. Vizio's website even admits to this and promises that a firmware update and clean storage procedure would fix this!!! Vizio updated the firmware and the issue appeared to be resolved for a few weeks but then returned. Vizio customer support had me do a power recycle which resolved the issue for a few weeks but again the issues returned and new ones appeared the video would freeze upon a cold startup the TV would turn off automatically in the middle of watching TV for no reason whatsoever. Vizio technical support had me do clean storage procedure which appeared to resolve the issue for a few days but then the issues again returned. Technical support also admitted that the issue of the TV turning off intermittently will still be an issue until Vizio updates the firmware and they are looking into this issue now. Through these issues we could still watch TV the issues were merely a nagging nuisance. Finally fed up and fearful that the TV would fail once out of the warranty period I called Vizio and they sent out a Technician to replace the logic board. Within an hour after the technician left the TV failed altogether. Vizio now wants to replace my new TV that was defective upon arrival with a recertified TV which I objected to. In order to get a new TV they want me to pay an extra $300.00 plus tax! I asked Ashley of Vizio customer support how she would feel paying good money for a new TV but instead getting a recertified TV. She said she would be upset but this is their corporate policy. So buy a Vizio at your own risk because it is very risky to do so. Incredible that Vizio would put out a product knowing that it had existing defects and then screwing customers over!!.
erreview Excellent TV set up is really easy we have a small room so the size is perfect. Used picture settings as recommended by Cnet. Bought 28dayslater and Matrix#1 BlueRay discs as first tests. Very disappointed with 28days later ghosts on screen poor color definition etc. All was resolved when the Matrix BR started amazing picture. I guess some movies transfer to BR better than others. It must be said my previous TV was a 2003 27 Magnavox so HDTV was an eyeopener. Have also watched Fantastic Mr Fox and Dark Knight BRs magnifique! Warning a great picture does not make most movies any better.
Love the TV however? i love this TV howver after a few months of owning it the set began turning off during a movie or show. I am now going to contact vizio and see what they say.
Incredible picture and great value. I've had the XVT423SV for two weeks now. I couldn't be happier with the picture quality. HD is very crisp and clear with deep blacks and accurate colors. SD picture quality is even better than I expected. This is with the factory presets. I haven't taken the time to change the picture settings. This is a good TV for a bright room. I'll have to change the backlighting because it tends to be bright in a dark room. The Ambient Light Sensor is supposed to adjust it automatically but I find that it makes the picture too dark. I also found the Smooth Motion Effect caused what people call the soap opera effect. Motion didn't seem natural.
Unbeatable LED TV with WiFi for the price! Great TV packed with many features that other brands charge very high prices for. Picture quality is outstanding and very customizable. This is my second Vizio XVTseries television and I am pleased with both overall. There are a few bugs in the way it updates its software or reboots like a computer would sometimes but it doesn't happen too often. The remote is a bit bulky with small buttons but the full qwerty keyboard and Bluetooth connection are nice.
Vizio TV with Apps Very pleased with this TV the only problem is the sound. not the best but will Live with that. This TV was refurbished and the company PTLTRADER was great to work with I had some Issues but they worked with me..I would buy from them again..5 star review for PTLTRADER..
Broke after one year and a few days We purchased the Vizio XVT423SV 42Inch TV January 14 2011. Just a few days after the 1 year the TV stopped working had no picture or sound. We contacted with Vizio they said since this is after the one year guarantee they have to see what they can do. They have a contract with ITI in San Francisco Bay area to fix the TVs. Setting up dates with the repairman took several days he came changed a part the TV did not work. Again setting up a new date he changed some other parts but the TV did not work. ITI deemed the TV irreparable said that Vizio was going to contact us they did not contact with Vizio but we did. Every day we would call them to see what can be done. After one and a half weeks calling every day they gave us this deal $330 to buy a refurbished TV the same size and model as ours or for less money a smaller TV. What a deal!! It took to reach this deal 1.5 months! The end of the story is that our 1 year and few days old broken TV is going to the garbage dump where it belongs. We have been also contemplating to donate to our kids school for take a part that would give a nice advertisement for a quality TV. I wanted to write this review to prevent others from wasting a $1150 on some unreliable headache.
Very Satisfied Very Satisfied. Color is perfect didn't have to make any adjustments. Streaming is seamless thus far. Takes more time than usual to turn on though as well as to get the channel you are changing to. However these are minor compared to the picture quality and enjoyment we get from our beautiful looking TV.
Great TV I bought this TV based off of Vizios name. I also had bought a refurb 32 from Tigerdirect in 2009 and loved that one. Because I was satisfied with my 32 I felt that the internet apps would be a great bonus with the LED lighting. The apps are a welcome addition to the tv and also at the time something that not all tv's had at the time. One of my favorite apps is the Amazon instant app which plays content flawlessly with no errors. There's a Pandora app iHeartRadio Showtime YouTube and many others.
Vizio TV WhenI purchase the television I was very excited about the internet apps. They TV has a sharp look with pretty good sound quality. The problem I have is that the tv is basicly a Computer and takes a little bit of time to boot up. also I have problems with it freezing up during a cold boot. I have called tech support and thay have been good but the problems seems to come back. It has to do with the memory or cache in the system. I plan to have it serviced but you need to Go through a process before they want to service the equipment. Plus hold on to your reciept because they insist on your copy not just the ones thay have. Hopefully after service this situation will be resolved.

  • Awesome TV for the price In all honesty Im a pretty big snob when it comes to electronics and whatnot but I couldnt afford a super pricey TV while I was at school. I picked this up for around $500 and the thing is a beauty. No complaints nor would I believe I got such a steal for it.Totally recommended.
Philips 40PFL7505D/F7 40Inch 1080p 120 Hz LED LCD HDTV Black We would like to be able to use the flash drive port to run photo slide shows in a continuous loop but have not figured that out yet. If Phillips monitors these reviews they can respond to this request and let us know what the simplest method is for showing a continous loop slideshow from a flash drive so it can play all day during a tradeshow. This is one of five LED TV's of this model that we purchased for tradeshow displays. The first two were purchased at a retail store and they met or exceeded our expectations. We ordered the next two new TV's on Amazon and both shipped from the same supplier promptly and in good condition. We ordered the fifth TV from a different site that is not affiliated with Amazon Amazon was out of them and we had to call and write emails to determine if they were going to be able to fill the order. Even though we ordered it at the same time we received the two TV's ordered through Amazon before we had the order acknoledgement from the other guys. When it arrived the box looked like it had been around the world a couple times and opened and returned by several customers.
Problem with network I had tried 2 of these TVs and both TVs had problem with the network. I use my TV with netflix and I have to do a connection test everyday for the TV to recognize my wireless network. My 2nd TV which is less than a month old is having issues now recognizing any wireless network so I guess I will be returning this TV as well. I bought this TV because this is the best price for the quality. But now I wish I had chosen a different one. It might be ok if you do not use the wireless option.
We love this TV This was such a great deal and we love everything about this TV no complaints. Easy set up easy to adjust color/brightness etc. HD picture quality is just incredible almost 3D effect sometimes. Fun to watch DVD's of movies we've already seen and notice all the HD details we missed before on our ancient TV. Sound quality also excellent no issues with volume control. Hooked up a blueray player so we can get Netflix and Vudu content too. Highly recommend this TV! Size is perfect too large but not overwhelming for our relatively small living room.
Couldn't be Happier I am in the process of moving from Georgia to Massachusetts. Can't sell the house so I have an apartment and need to furnish it. Needed a TV. This was on clearance last one BNIB for $325 at my local Target. I have always sworn by Sony TV's but the price made me take a chance. There were no Philips TV's on display. This TV blows away ALL competition. It is the first TV I have ever said WOW when I saw the picture. Hooked it up to my PS3 and put Blue Ray Bug's Life on. Unbelievable. Almost 3D.Switched to HD cable Animal Planet. Stunning. Sound is good too for TV speakers.I switched out blue ray to Life on Earth. Now I know why I bought blue ray version.Haven't had chance to check out PS3 games yet because of watching soccer from UK in HD and other sports.Even at $650 I would have been happy. But at $325 I'm ecstatic.Big thanks to Philips Target and all those customers who walked by this bargain an passed it up.
Excellent for the money. We purchased this TV one month ago. We previously had a very nice 35 Mitsubishi standard picture tube set. A moment of silence please. We are very pleased with the new TV in all aspects. I extended the warranty 3 years with a SquareTrade warranty from Costco $60. We are on cable don't have HD yet and don't do video games but the picture is quite good. Some sets are better but not in the price range. Westinghouse has some similarly priced units but with fewer connections. Vizio was ruled out because of the poor online comments especially about their customer support.Set up was easy as was customizing the picture contrast brightness etc.. It is a series of which picture do you like best? questions. Updating the software was much easier than my brain was trying to convince me it was going to be. Many have commented about the sound of these thin models. With the viewing we do above the sound is entirely fine. No booming bass but vocals come across very nice. I should mention the TV is not in an entertainment enclosure but sitting on a table no closer than 8 from any wall. Perhaps that helps the sound.Minor ding TV's of this type take a while to turn on. The Philips takes 13 seconds. Bring a book.Nice plus The remote is very nicely laid out and has a very good feel and balance. Nice touch.Thing to think about We figured with our viewing distance ~8' a 3740 picture would be best.
WIFI issues I bought this set because of the price. The tv is good if you don't stream or use Netflix. The reason I am returning it is because it is very hard to set up the WIFI. I've called tech support 2x and the only solution they had for me was to call my internet provider or router manufacturer.I own a couple LED tvs and this is the only tv that has given me WIFI issues I'm computer literate and have never had a problem setting up WIFI whether it was on my laptops tvs etc. Another problem I've had was with Netflixit seems like you need to log onto a computer and add a movie you want to watch on your Philips into your instant queue first. Then you can watch it on the TV. Unlike my Samsung you browse through movies on this Philips.
Poor Sound Limited Apps Bad Menus After the reviews on this HDTV and with a special price of only about $550 at Sams Club I thought this would be an excellent TV. I was wrong and will return the TV.In the last year I've purchased 4 other smart HDTVs a Panasonic Plazma 59 2 Samsungs 32 & 46 and an LG 42. The specs on the Philips LED are as loaded as most of the other TVs but it suffers as followsCONS1 BAD SOUNDa There's a vibration with the speakers and the Philip's just doesn't sound as good as my other TVs.b The menu options to control the sound are very limited.c The volume bar is horrible. There's no number or scale but a small triangle that fills up with increasing volume which limits accuracy.d THIS TV DOES NOT SUPPORT AN ANALOG SOUND BAR or HT it only has a digital audio out. This was the killer for us as we couldn't use existing speakers or new analogs digital sound systems cost over $300.2. LIMITED INTERNET APPSYou can't download any additional apps and can only use the 4 or 5 that come with the set. No Facebook no YouTube no Weather etc.3. POOR REMOTE with small buttons difficult to read & limited features.4. LOUSY MENUS that don't provide the same options as most other brands providing less control with the picture sound setup5. AVERAGE PICTURE. It didn't seem as good as LG or Samsung.6. FRAME IS LARGER than most newer HDTV's.PROS1. GOOD CUSOMER SUPPORT. Easy to get through polite and knowledgable.2. GOOD CONNECTIVITY except for no support for analog speakers.
Very nice T.V. This is my first HDTV that I've ever purchased but I had done a lot of research before deciding which television I was going to purchase. If this is the size of television that you're looking for then this in my opinion is going to be your best choice for the best price.
PHILIPS 40 INCH LED TV GREAT VALUE FOR MONEY. THE PICTURE CLARITY IS EXCELLENT THE STYLING IS VERY SLEEK AND THE SETTING WAS VERY SIMPLE. OVER ALL A GOOD BUY.
