  • BEST PICTURE QUALITY DID A LOT OF RESEARCH BEFORE SPENDING THIS MUCH MONEY ON A TV. DECIDED THAT THE SAMSUNG LED LCD OFFERED THE HIGHEST QUALITY PICTURE AND THEN I COULD NOT BELIEVE THE LOW PRICE ON AMAZON.IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A TV LOOK NO FURTHER.
A TV to buy !!!! This is why you should buy Samsung LNT4081F 40inch 1080p HDTV. It has a half a million to one contract ratio 50000001.
Now discontinued This model along with all the LNTxxx models are no longer listed as current on the Samsung site. Would be very interested in a 2nd generation model with better PAP flexibility.
Excellent LCD HDTV Excellent picture quality. When HD program is available the picture is awesome! Very easy to setup. A nice improvement would be that all the remote buttons should illuminate so that the channel numbers and menus could be seen in the dark.
LEDs or No LCDs!!! This Samsung LED HDTV is Top quality the design is amazing its lightweight and the super Glossy screen gives it a 3D image thats unMatched.Although if you have alot of windows this shiny Screen causes ALOT of reflection but then again you wouldnt want a dull Matte screen would you?BLacks! that the main reason behind this tv and oh my its BLACK i swear you cant tell if its off or on simply AMAZING.This LCD handles motion really well even better than my Panasonic Plasma 08' the image is razorsharp and the color accuracy is really good. The Blooming is very minor and not noticeable during viewing. Now you may be asking should i get this or the XBR8 or A950 well i say get this because the A950 i swear looks identical and all your really paying more for is 120hz which i hate anyway so.the XBR8 on the other hand is really expensive and not worth it at all this 81F is a steal at this Price.Shipping through Crutchfield was awesome had my Tv in 2days. A+++++I have added pictures to the items gallery.
Nice LCD but not impressed. This LCD has the black glossy look the touch sensor which turns on the LCD and of course the crispy look of the HD channels. The only thing that killed this LCD to me is the LED Motion Plus which states that it works as well as the other 120Hz LCD's. It doesn't. When an object is moved at a fast pace it breaks up. I see all of the Judder of the image. Disappointing. I also see banding which also bites. I've also tested it out by buying three pairs of HDMI cables one was 2.2 Gbps one was 5 Gbps and the other was 10 Gbps thinking it was the cabling. All showed the same disappointing problems. I then bought a monster surge suppressor with EMI protection to see if my power socket was giving dirty power. That wasn't the case. I can't see how people here say those things are nonexistent. It's clearly visible. Maybe they need to watch some sport channels to see those flaws. This TV is great if you don't watch sports and don't mind the breakups of fast moving objects. Everything else the LCD offers is outstanding. Great color crispyness outside look the LED backlight which gives the nice black background and of course the $1599 price tag with free shipping. If this LCD had the 120Hz I would of kept it instead of sending it back. I'm now going for the Samsung LN40A750 which has the 120Hz.
Just crrrrazy. First the color and definition simply can't be touched. The blacks are very black. The brights are intense. My 4year old woke up to his first day of cartoons on the new tube and it was too bright for him to take. I had to cut the backlighting to the minimum.Second I have to admit I'm not a hardcore aficionado but I just can't agree with the guy complaining of blur. I did notice some blur watching football on the factory settings but just switching to Dynamic mode which makes the LED Motion Plus kick in put the kibosh on that. Since making that change everything is clear and blurfree.Maybe somewhere there's a superior 40inch set but I kind of doubt it.
Amazing These are apparently discontinued so very happy I bought when I did. Fantastic picture no blurring unbelievable colors. Great job Samsung.
Tuner Kaput This TV was spectacular for the first week. Woke up this morning turned on the TV and just got weak or no signal on both air and cable. Through process of elimination it is definitely the TV tuner. I would recommend you buy from a local store Sears Best Buy that way you can return it immediately.
Great 1080 P T.V. I couldn't be happier with the purchase of this LCD. I always heard negatives about the LCD technology when it came to true blacks. Samsung acknowledged this issue with their LED technology. the 5000001 contrast ratio provides for a great picture. The Full 1080P looks amazing with my PS3Blue Ray player. Unfortunately I am unable to utilize the 1080P while watching T.V. because of the cable companies limitations hopefully Verizon Fios will be available in my area soon. Regardless the picture looks great no matter what signal is coming into the converter box. The T.V. is also great looking which compliments the rooms asthetics. Overall I couldn't be happier some say the only draw back is that the T.V. isn't 120 HZ the LED motion technology makes up for that though with 8ms response time. Honestly my friend has a 120 HZ Samsung and I can't tell the difference. Both look great.

Westinghouse SK 26H590D 26 Inch Built In Player Not a great TV - just okay

Westinghouse SK-26H590D 26-Inch LCD HDTV with Built-In DVD Player
Westinghouse SK-26H590D 26-Inch LCD HDTV with Built-In DVD Player Read more...

  • Built-in Front Loading Progressive Scan DVD Player
  • Xilleon Video Processing by ATI
  • Integrated ATSC / NTSC Tuner
  • SpineDesign Cable Management
  • Two HDMI, Two S-Video and two HD component video inputs

  • good features & price if only if worked After doing a local market survey of HDTV's that would fit my entertainment cabinet from the old days TV I gave to the Salvation Army I liked the set of features and inputs best for the Westinghouse 26 HDTV. I acommodated all of my inputs from DVD VCR & ATSC. I was particularly impressed by the tuner sensitivity as it pulled in 28 analog channels and 24 digital channels off my attic antenna I am about 30 miles out of NY City and also get Philly stations. Now for the bad news. Like other reviewers wish I had read these earlier I also had a persistent problem with total lockup from onair signals. None of the buttons on the remote or TV worked except that I discovered the old PC trick of holding down the power button for more than 5 seconds after which the TV would reboot just like an old PC.I called the Westinghouse customer service and they walked me through the factory reset process which forced me to reprogram all of my stored channels and configuration again.
Tried 2 but its a NO! Both TVs had stick pixels you could clearly see during dark passages small green pixel lights. Returned both to Target and ordered a Toshiba.
WOW YOU CAN'T GO WRONG WITH THIS TV/DVD COMBO AT THIS PRICE. HDMI PC COMPONENT CABLE INPUTS EVERYTHING NEEDED TO GET STARTED FOR YOUR BEDROOM. PURCHASED AND SATISFIED.
Horrible DVD player and Horrible Customer Service I bought this TV at Target several months ago specifically for its size and the fact that it had a builtin DVD player. Very soon after the DVD player started having problems. It would skip despite cleaning the DVDs and the laser lens of the DVD player. The same DVDs would play just fine on my stand alone Panasonic DVD player. After several months of problems I called Westinghouse and was told that I should send the TV back and they would send me out a new TV within 5 business days. I was also told that I had to pay for the shipping which ended up being over $60. It has been over a month since they received the TV and I'm still waiting for a new TV. Multiple phone calls to their customer support have been useless. They take your number and say that a supervisor will call you back. The supervisor never calls back requiring you to call again and wait on hold forever for a supervisor to come on the line. The supervisor then states that the problem is being resolved but gives no indication of when I will get back my TV. I am writing a letter to president of the Westinghouse requesting a full refund.
Great HDTV This is overall a very nice TV. The display is very good with immaculate images from HD sources. Standard def TV looks good as well. Widescreen looks fantastic. Overscan mode allows you to zoom a 43 image and maintain aspect ratio which is a nice way to avoid pillarbox or letterbox black bars . The speakers are adequate but any serious HD setup would have dedicated speakers. The builtin DVD player is a nice touch as it's very convenient. I've never seen nor own any HD DVDs or HD players so I can't compare in that domain but the DVD player seems to hold its own. Another great feature is the spine in the back of the TV that contains all the input ports aligned vertically for easy access. The only downsides are occasional lockups or crashes of the TV where I need to reboot. This could be endemic or just apply to my unit. YMMV. Also the menus and channel tuning support are a little on the slow side where you need to be deliberate with the remote. Overall a great TV for a great price.
builtin DVD player is useless! I guess I'm just adding my voice to the choir here but the builtin DVD player on this thing is the most useless piece of crap I've ever dealt with. It struggles with the most basic tasks and as of today seems to have crapped out completely.
Not a great TV just okay CONS I have had this Westinghouse model for over a year now and use it with an HD antenna. The picture freezes a lot. The only way to unfreeze it is to either unplug the TV and plug it back in or hold down the power button on the TV for about 10 seconds to reboot the remote control loses all functionality when the picture freezes. Occasionally when I've unplugged it I've had to reprogram the clock and TV channels after I plug it back in. As for the builtin DVD player sometimes a DVD will play sometimes not. The DVDs that won't play I try on my other DVD player and they work fine so it is not a problem with the discs. My remote seems to have a very limited distance only about 10 feet.PROS It has a good picture and decent sound. It's fairly easy to set up initially program the clock and channels etc.. I like the programmable timer functions where I can set the TV to come on every morning at a certain time like an alarm clock then turn off when I leave for work. There is also a sleep timer. Another nice feature is that you can program your favorite TV channels into the favorites buttons on the remote so you don't have to flip through dozens of channels to find the stations you watch the most.
Burning time while deployed Ordered this tv while deployed overseas tv got to me in great shape and only took about 4 days from the time it was shipped. Good price for a good tv.
DVD player broke after 9 months Bought the TV in July 2007 and has been working pretty good until this week and the DVD player is dead. Not even 9 months. And it's not like I used it a lot and abused the TV. Very disappointed it's not like it's an easy item to carry off to the repair shop or return and I have to look for the warranty/manufacturer/user guide anyone like to find that stuff after nine months of placing it in a drawer somewhere at home? The TV itself works fine although a colleauge at work pointed out that the TV/VCR combos of yesteryear usually worked like this the VCR gives out with TV inevitably not too far behind. So I'm worried that TV will die out now. Will never buy a combo function TV again. Also the metal frame around the screen is not well made you can see the slight bumps in the frame.
If I could give this 0 stars I would Do not buy this TV. Simple as that.Had the same picture freezing problem as a previous reviewer however it is not due to the DVD player mine freezes when using an over the air digital antenna. Has frozen 4 times now twice just this morning and as soon as I can find the receipt and put this bad boy into the box it is going back to Best Buy and I'm buying Sony. And by frozen I mean you can't change the channel with the remote or with the buttons on the side of the TV you end up having to hold down the power button on the tv and powering it down much like a frozen PC computer. I know that it is not the antenna as I use the exact same antenna on a Panasonic LCD TV and have never had a problem. Also it is not a power surge as both the TV and antenna are plugged into a brand new surge protector. On the plus side this TV has a zillion inputs for a tv of its sizebut some things are just too good to be true.

  • Get the best picture with preconfigured picture and audio settings
  • Light Sensor adjusts picture brightness based on ambient light

  • Junk Just another mexican made piece of junk. I had it 4 months and now it wont turn on. If I want it fixed I have to travel 200 miles to drop it off at a sony shipping site to be shipped to Texas so they can send me a refurbished one. So 400 miles round trip 8 hours out of my day come on sony really really. I will never buy any thing sony again.
Sony BRAVIA Bought this tv for Christmas 2011 it already has lines on the screen. Definitely not happy. Great picture and loved it up until recently.
awesome littlebigger tv Have had a 55 Sony Bravia in the front room for a while and LOVE it. So I got a 22 Sony Bravia for the back room like a matching set!. Unfortunately I lost the little guy in the divorce. Then that room was later converted into my drum studio now that there's no more Precious Moments or Peanuts crap all over the place. But I was still paying for the other receiver and I thought it would be nice to have another smaller TV in the back of the house maybe the kitchen? Then I couldn't find a 22 Bravia. Well wouldn't you know I have an island counter top in the kitchen with a cabinet above it and I swear to god that cabinet was placed just at the right height so this 32 could fit perfectly underneath it! I heard poor reviews about the speakers on this TV but I don't believe them at all. With the speakers set to the Dynamic mode my kitchen is roughly 13' x 14' and when I'm sitting on the bar stool eating and watching the TV or jamming one of the satellite music channels it sometimes sounds like there is small set of speakers behind my fridge!!! So stick it to your exwife get a bigger TV than she has.
Great TV works great on ps3 I remember wondering whether this TV could handle fast pace game play because there are a lot of HDTV's out there that aren't meant for games. This TV is definitely great for games I play MW3 and noticed no input lag unlike some of the TV's my friends have. The TV's picture is also great and it works as a good monitor. I was able to buy this TV at $298 which was practically a steal.
Great television! I have purchased 3 LCD televisions in the past 6 months two for my own home and one as a gift for a family member. Of the 3 this SONY Bravia delivers the best picture and performance for the price which says a lot considering that the other 2 are a Samsung 40 inch 1080p and an LG 42 inch 1080p both of which are higher resolution. This SONY puts out a fine picture with good blacks and enough contrast so that you can clearly see the action that takes place in dark scenes. I like its matte screen which doesn't reflect a lot of room light and is also good when we watch it in bed with the lights out. The set was easy to set up and it has a decent remote with clearly labeled buttons. One of its big pluses is that it interfaces smoothly with our cable remote which we have to use to control the set when its hooked up to our cable box which is always. We have another television a Samsung that refuses to work well with the cable remote and this is a big headache. This SONY on the other hand operates very well with the cable remote. One click turns both the cable box and the television set on or off plus adjusts audio and changes channels. So simple!I was hesitant about getting a 720p because I worried that the picture would not be crisp but I figured that since this one was intended as a secondary TV for the bedroom it wouldn't matter that much. It turns out that I needn't have worried as I can't tell the difference between this picture and the picture that comes out of our supposedly better Samsung. And the price for this unit is excellent.Overall a great set for a great price.
Excellent TV for the Money I bought it 4 months ago and have not had any problems. I use it to receive broadcast TV via antenna and also for DVD viewing. Picture quality is excellent sound is good. I just hope this model doesn't use the same components that Sony used in their 20082010 models. The Internet is full of consumer complaints about Sony TVs mysteriously failing soon after the warranty expired and the company not offering much if any compensation.
Average 32 TV This 32 TV is good not great. I thought that the TV was able to get bright enough for that pop in contrast that I like to see. I calibrate all my TVs based on using various calibration BluRays as well as utilizing AVS forum user suggestions. While this may not be as good as a professional calibration it usually works out well. I had this TV stacked up against the TCL 32 LG 32LK450 and Samsung 32 360 series. In the end the TCL 32 seemed to provide an acceptable picture but not as detailed as the others but it was able to provide better contrast than the LG & Sony I was surprised as well.
Great TV I love the TV. It came really quick and was easy to set up. Great picture!! It synced with my Sony Blue Ray automatically as expected. Sony is worth the extra money to me. I wish it has 1 more HDMI port.
Easier than a child's toy Delivered to my front door. No pickupno waiting hassle free. Easy setup. Instructions clear and simple. Was delivered exactly the date posted.
I like it I have had no issues with the Sony 32 inch. Great Picture good sound looks good what's not to like? With that said I have only had it for 2 months. The true test will be it's long term performance. Will I still love it in 2 or 3 years? I guess time will tell.

Worst TV award winner!!! I bought this TV in December of 2009 for $1200 notice drastic price dropthere is a reason why. Picture was good sound quality was poor volume won't actually increase past 2030% even though the numbers increase the sound won't the remote has to be close and pointed directly at the right spot for it to work and there is lag in menu displays. Beyond these gems of engineering my TV quit working after less than 2yrs. There is absolutely no picture and no sound. To bring out a technician will cost $320 which may or may not fix the problem but there are no technicians in Tulsa. Please save yourself some money and don't buy a Vizio. They really don't work well they don't last long and your chances of finding a Vizio technician are slim to none.
Bad choice I should have went with my first choice. I brought a Vizio VT420M 42inch a year and a month ago because Vizio was known for reliability. In this instance it is not the case I had invested several months to get one of the best TVs on the market. It came down to Sony and Vizio I chose Vizio WRONG CHOICE. After hours spent on internet consumer sites and reading peer reviews this is what I get. Yesterday I lost my picture the screen went black but the sound still works. I called the manufacturer and because the TV only has a one year warranty I am S.O.L.. In order to get the TV repaired it will cost me around $350 not to mention that it will take up to 3 mos. to get the parts from Japan.. I did not purchase the extended warranty because of brand reliability but I should have went with my first choice to buy but I did not. This is my last experience with Vizio I will never own another Vizio product and I emailed my friends and family and forwarned them. Such a pretty name with crappy parts and poor workmanship. Sony I guess I will be purchasing you this weekend.
stay away from Vizio I bought 2 vizio tv's and both of them went out.The model # of my 42 vt420m .it went out almost 1 year to the date and Vizio told me it will take 1 to 2 weeks before it get fixed by them.SO STAY AWAY FROM VIZIO.
DO NOT BUY AND DEFINETLY DON'T BUY ELECTRONICS FROM TARGET My fiancee and I purchased this TV on Dec. 13th 2009 and the backlight for the screen failed on Dec. 13 2010! ONE YEAR TO THE DAY?!!! SEEMS VERY SUSPICIOUS AND ITS OBVIOUSLY A POORLY MADE PRODUCT. We purchased from a certain store with a bullseye logo Guest Relations was rude and patronizing. They will not help refuse to provide us with a copy of proof of purchase or receipt their customer relations team members can only repeat the phrase its not our policy to supply that information or take any responsibility for selling a poor quality item. So we are now stuck with an $800 piece of worthless electronics. I will not be shopping at their store for electronics or anything else.
Love this TV!!! Just what I was looking for to go with my game system and HD Cable. Great picture quality and easy use and setup. Sound is acceptable but not the best added a Logitech Stereo Sound System2 speaker with bass box and really perked it up.
Picture gone after 18 months I have had my Vizio VT420M 42 LCD TV for 18 months 1year warranty. I initially paid $779 for it. The TV worked very well for the first 18 months. The sound quality of the built inspeakers left a lot to be desired but I use my stereo anyway so it was no big deal for me.After 18 months the picture would not come on if I used the TV for a while turned it off and turned it back on again. If I waited a few hours the picture would be back. Then about a week later the picture died after about 15 minutes of watching it.I called Vizio and they walked me through a power reset and then gave me the phone number for a TV repair company. I know it is out of warranty but it seems like a company would be concerned if their TV lasted only 18 months!I have read more on the web. There have been a number of similar stories to mine. The backlight works motherboard is good sound works etc. It sounds like the LCD screen goes out which is more expensive to fix than the TV is worth. So if you are buying one I recommend an extended warranty.Me personally I will be buying a Sony tomorrow.
Just OK I bought this TV in Jan 2010. Mostly because I was very impressed with a smaller 24 Visio I had purchased a couple of years before. Everything was fine color and sound were very good for almost two years that is until the picture went out. I still had sound but just a black screen. I called Visio Tech Support and they said one of the boards had to be replaced. They also told me that since the warranty had expired in Jan 2011 and that I was responsible for the cost of repair. I was furious that a TV picture would go in less than two years. They apologized blah blah but I was really angry and I told them so. As luck would have it I bought the TV with my American Express card so the repair was covered by the extended warranty that comes with the card. Otherwise it would have cost me $245! I found out through researching the internet that this was not uncommon with Visio TV. This is the last time I buy a Visio.
Buyer Beware. TV stopped working before 1 yr. Unprofessional dealings. Bought this TV in November of 2010. Eight 8 days before the one year warranty ran out the picture went. There is NO picture on the tv but the sound works.Called Vizio and the c.s. rep was really hard to deal with. She was very nice but she kept putting me on hold each time I asked a question simple questions like where do I send the info you're requesting. They said I had to send a copy of my receipt. So I emailed a PDF of it. They were supposed to get back to me within 24 hrs. A week later they hadn't responded so I called Vizio and spoke to someone who said he would fill out a request for a tech to come to my house to fix the TV. He put me on hold for 12 minutes while he filled out a request. When I asked how long it would take to get a tech here he said 58 business days b/c Vizio has to send ITI Repairs the part. ITI Repairs is the company that does their TV repairs. I said Well if you know which part to send then you must know what's wrong with the tv right? He said yes. I said So what's wrong with it. He said I don't know. Huh?Vizio rep said ITI Repairs would call me to schedule an appointment. So 2 days later some kid calls me at 915 pm from his cell phone to ask for directions.
Over a year now and still loving it The picture quality is amazingsome ordinary shows and movies appear almost 3D.I connect audio to my receiver/surround sound system and the audio did fluctuate. When I bought a fiber optic cable and used it for audio the fluctuation stopped and I've been happy ever since.
