Panasonic TC P42C2 42 Inch 720p Plasma Great for watching TV, not so much for movies or gaming

    Panasonic TC-P42C2 42-Inch 720p Plasma HDTV
  • VIERA Image Viewer for JPEG image slideshows directly from an SD memory card
  • Inputs: 2 HDMI, 2 component, 2 composite, 1 digital audio output
  • Includes removable stand; measures 40.6 x 27.8 x 12.1 inches with stand
  • 600Hz Sub-field Drive technology for superb full-HD motion; 2,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio
  • 42-inch Plasma HDTV with 720p HD resolution; 720 lines of moving picture resolution
  • Best Plasma under $500 but know what to use this for Note I copy and pasted Opinunated's review and deleted some stuff and added my own views/opinions. I have done hundreds of hours of research and reading of reviews before I chose this tv. If you don't know anything about plasma vs. LCD and are trying to decide. Go to http//www.thebestplasmatv.com/ look in the middle column and click on Plasma Vs. LCD to teach yourself something. This is a pretty good buy for the money. I paid $420 plus 5.6% tax at a local big box store for this 2010 42 Panasonic Plasma yes it was on sale.I own a 55 1080p vizio LCD for my living room which has a ton of light. I am using this Panasonic tv in my basement which has a lot of windows as well but I have blackout curtains for when I view. I am using this as an interim tv until I can afford to buy a 60 top of the line plasma for movies and gaming to replace it. I will move this panasonic into my dark bedroom. I believe this panasonic plasma should only be used for movies/gaming. You should not be buying this tv if your expectation is to be your main tv which is usually in a living roomif so you have low expectations. I don't have any cable box hooked up but i have cable in my house and I have the cable cord from the wall plugged directly into the tv.
Great for watching TV not so much for movies or gaming I bought this to put up in my office's breakroom after testdriving it in a store. The picture is great Panasonic has the best plasma sets on the market right now. Blacks are very dark whites are bright and the colors are fantastic. Motion is smooth and flickerfree. Even the menus get bonus points here for being intuitive and easy to navigate. I wound up buying two more for the office we liked this one so much. For a plasma this set is pretty lightweight. I was able to wallmount all three of them without any help. The connections on the back are placed so they won't interfere with even a close mount. It's not as thin as many other TVs being a plasma but if you're after a sleek look you're not looking at this TV anyway. Once it's up the viewing angle is excellent. You can see the picture from anywhere except from behind. The downside? It's 720p. This won't interfere with most TV watching even in HD but if you're wanting to hook up an XBox 360 or a PS3 you're going to notice a downgrade in picture quality. BluRay movies won't live up to their potential either. But at this price point a 42 TV is simply not going to offer 1080p.One other potential drawback the box this ships in is HUGE. It's easily twice the size of the TV itself in all three dimensions. It could be tricky to get up a set of stairs and there's also going to be a lot of cardboard to dispose of afterwards. It's all to protect the fragile TV but be aware of what's going to come to your door.
EXCELLENT IN ALL RESPECTS I have had the same old TV for a long time. So old it only had a single jack in the back. Can you imagine my utter amazement when I fired this baby up and put in my favorite DVD? I'm glad I was sitting down because I was knocked aback by the utter new world of viewing before me. Watching Life in the Undergrowth Starring David Attenborough 2006 Had always been a pleasure but now. . .I WAS THERE WITH HIM. I'm in HeavenUnit arrived in perfect shape ON TIME and without a single dent in the box.
Great Tv for the Price I bought this tv for less than $500. I did not want to spend a lot of money on a tv but wanted high def. This tv was almost perfect for what I needed. The picture is very good and the thin stylish black body is handsome. However I wanted a headphone jack to plug in headphones so I could listen to the tv while wife was doing something else in the room. I was able to convert from rca cable to headphones but I had to order a split rca side wire/to a headphone jack on the internet. I figured out how to do what I wanted to do but would have been much simplier if a headphone jack had be on the tv.This is the only complaint I have with the tv. Otherwise a great tv for a good value.
great TV Wonderful TV. Got this TV or my bedroom over a month ago.And so far have been very pleased. Have The Panasonic in my bedroom. The picture is nice and crisp. Movies look great on it. I have watched BluRay and HD DVD discs on it. The picture was nice and crisp.Cant comment on the sound as I have a Vizio soundbar in my bedroom. I have my BluRay player and HD DVD player hooked into the soundbar.
First time plasma I have never owned a flat screen tv. I purchased this on the suggestion of a friend. A tremendous value and price. Love this addition to my home.
Can't Go Wrong With This Set Without question the Panasonic 42 plasma was the best $399 I've spent in recent memory. The Best Buy sale last Friday was either a 1day thing or a mistake because the prices were marked back up to $499 when I revisited the website and were never marked down at all in the store. If you are considering this set *do not* rely on the degraded signal quality in Best Buy stores as a measure of picture quality. I was prepared to accept minor flaws but when I hooked it up at home the picture was absolutely flawless nearphotographic with hidefinition content dvd/bluray and standard definition DirectTV signals were excellent in terms of quality but a bit stretched to fill the screen. I can't comment on hidef TV signals just yet because my DirecTV technician got stuck in some snow this past weekend and had to cancel.
Good Price Poor Quality My fiance purchased this TV at a good price and initially we were fairly pleased. The Mhz and motion quality were only average and certainly never had that beautiful smooth motion most new TV's have. By this I mean how many newer TV's look so much smoother when there is movement in whatever you're watching such as the camera panning across a location. This was disappointing but nowhere near as disappointing as having the TV die after only 5 months of lite usage. Compound that with the fact that being 42 meant I had to carry it to the repair shop only to find out that the needed parts were on back order. Clearly this means that the problem I experienced is widespread especially considering they remained on back order for an entire month before Panasonic decided to just send me a new TV which I'm still waiting on.
Best TV's around I have 2 42 inch Panasonic 720P Viera Plasmas and one 50 inch. I have also owned 3 LG LCD's and a Samsung over the last 4 years. The Panasonic Plasmas are incredible. My dad and brother spent over a $1000 dollars on a Samsung 1080P that looks no better than the 720P Panasonic plasma. I watch a ton of sports and it is awesome compared to the 2 LCD tv's I have. This was the first TV I have bought online. I was a little hesitant at first just because of the shipping but the TV arrived on time and in perfect condition. The price is incredible and so is the picture.

Panasonic VIERA TC L42D30 42 Inch 1080p Viera L42D30 - Close but not quite

    Panasonic VIERA TC-L42D30 42-Inch 1080p LED HDTV
  • VIERA Connect
  • Flush Design
  • 120Hz with Motion Picture Pro 4
  • DLNA / Wi-Fi Ready
  • IPS Alpha LED Panel
  • Chroma bug * Panel This is advertised as an IPS alpha panel which is supposed to be one of the best panels to date. Indeed the colors do not seem to fade when viewed at wide angles although the screen still turns gray at a fairly small angle 45 degrees I'd say in very dark areas. IPS or not it seems LCD panels still can't match plasma in viewing angle and black levels and this is more important in dim rooms. Yes IPS panels are best but having seen one I'm not so sure not having one is a deal breaker anymore. To get into more details I looked at the pixels with a magnifier and they all appear rectangular and solid to me. No chevron pixels or any other strange shape. My computer monitor also has an IPS panel and that one looks the same. Apparently looking at the panel can't tell you the type. I think I spotted a dead pixel not sure if there are more since I haven't specifically looked for them but they don't seem to intrude very much anyway.* Image quality While watching a TV channel I noticed that this model has the chroma bug aka chroma upsampling error or CUE. There's a good explanation of this at [] I created a small MPEG2 video containing fully saturated blue and red discs of various sizes on a dark gray background and I played it on the TV through DLNA. Sure enough it exhibited the bug regardless of whether the video was interlaced or progressive. The problem is not there if you connect a DVD/BluRay player or a cable box to the TV through an analog or HDMI connection since these don't have any vertical chroma subsampling the former is either a composite or a YPbPr signal while the latter is either RGB always 444 or a 422 or 444 YCbCr signal depending on how the player/cable box is set up. However the problem is visible when watching digital TV channels directly off the cable which are MPEG2 encoded with a chroma subsampling of 420 or when using streaming DLNA or Netflix that is in those cases where the TV itself upsamples the 420 chroma. This is extremely dissapointing in the year 2011. I need to mention I installed the latest firmware upfront. Other than that the TV is doing a pretty good job at upsampling standard material. It detects 32 cadences rather slow a little over one second but at least it works. Other cadences are not detected but are far less common. Note that 32 pulldown does not work for streaming although upscaling is still ok.*DLNA This is working pretty good. No hangs or other issues. The set of supported formats is not huge but covers the basics. The TV refuses to play videos with no audio tracks for some reason but that's uncommon. My lossless WMA tracks play just fine most probably the TV lets the server convert them to LPCM.
Outstanding Living Room TV Have owned for 6 months now and very happy with this television! This is our first big screen HDTV. 42 is a nice size without overwhelming the room. The aesthetics of this unit are excellent thin bezel classy and looks expensive so many look plasticy and cheap.
when it worked it was swell Sorry to report but as the saying goes facts are friendly. You need to hope make that pray your set doesn't develop a nasty black line from the top like ours did. The line is maybe 5 inches long and very visible on all inputs. It was confirmed by the repair guy Panasonic sent out. The set needs a new panel. Ok it sucks but these are complex devices.Guess what? It's been in the shop for a month and the latest date without any promise is another four weeks for the part. Two months?Ever try to reach Panasonic for such an issue? It is brutal. Nothing to offer no consideration whatsoever. Just please call the repair shop as it is their job to keep you apprised. Yeah the repair shop calls every week to express exasperation that Panasonic cannot get them the part.We all know things can break but folks the real test is when things go bad how does a manufacturer perform? In this case as badly as you can imagine. One call transferred to parts. Parts looks up the case reports the part is back ordered and it will be at least another month. That makes two months. I ask him who I should speak with? He says the Consumer people. I say OK can you transfer me. He transfers me to a general operator. She says she'll transfer me. She does to family court. Seriously. Family court.Another call nice man listens to my tale. Advises me that the service company and this is not a formal Panasonic outfit just an authorized repair place he insists the repair shop is who I must deal with. The poor guys running that shop are flipping out that Panasonic is putting them in the hot seat when it is the part delay which is the issue.Caveat emptor to you all. I sincerely hope you have units that last forever. But speaking for us we'll never consider anything Panasonic again ever.
Nice sized trim. First and foremost the screen is Glossy. This to me means that colors are more colorful and detailed. Blacks are black and not washed out from a matte screen. I highly recommend a glossy screen for a bedroom. But use common sense and don't leave the windows open if you don't have to when viewing the tv. I have the back of my tv toward my window and works perfectly fine. Not one single piece of glare at all even with the curtains wide open. For gaming this is excellent. 30ms or so of input lag is phenomenal for an led/lcd tv. However the glow affect from the ips and dark scenes is a huge let down if you're just getting this for movies. Sports and gaming is I think what this tv was made for.The black level is better for me on the D30 then to the Sony HX800 I replaced it with. The HX800 had ghosting in video games and the black levels were so black that they looked globbed. There was no detail in the shadow areas of movies or games. What I mean by that is if you watch a movie with someone in a black suit. You are able to see the wrinkles and creases on it with a tv that has not so black blacks compared to a tv that is known for it's good blacks. This is one thing in gaming that is nice to have.
Excellent TV Needed a TV for my office and was looking for something that was from a quality mfg affordable and a good picture. In my main viewing rooms I will admit that I have Plasma TV's because they are hands down the better performing display for various reasons but LCD/LED definitely have some positives as well if you don't require the very top of the line image quality that Plasma offers. My main reason I purchased this TV was because I had 2 very large windows that bring in a lot of light into my room and this display is very bright as are LCD/LED's in general. I plan to watch News Sports and some misc shows while I'm working in my office. I was not looking for the best cinematic experience in my office if I needed that I would have purchased a Panasonic VT30 Plasma. While researching this TV I read several reviews on this model and they ranged from awesome to terrible so I was really debating purchasing this TV. Panasonic has never failed me with my 3 other Plasma TV's and they consistently rate at the top of the performance and reliability charts every year so I decided to take a chance and purchase this LCD/LED model and see for myself. I've had a few days to play with it now and it's a very nice TV. Colors are rich contrast is good handles video games very well for an LCD/LED. I particularly like how the TV looks it's very sharp very thin design lightweight and the bezel is very sleek. I required no additional help unpacking and even mounting it was so light. I'm comparing this to the 3 other Plasma TV's I have that weigh a ton. I really have nothing to complain about and don't see how this TV could get some of those terrible reviews that a few wrote of. If you are a videophile and want the best picture with no compromises then go Plasma all the way but the Panasonic TCL42D30 television is very nice TV.
Poor HDMI compliance. May not work on your devices I bought the Panasonic because I thought the big brand name would ensure no problems. Far from it I was surprised to learn the hard way that Vivera actually means some kind of proprietary HDMI communications. It seems the folks at Panasonic like to play with HDMI technology and decided to deviate from well established standards for this technology. They use this unsupported functionality to control other Panasonic devices. In concept it does some neat tricks like turn off your Blueray when you turn your TV off etc. However this extra communications creates problems and confusion for non Panasonic devices. In most cases my devices just choose to ignore the TV because it is talking nonsense. So here I am with an expensive TV that all my devices refuse to talk to HDMI talk. It would be fine if I had all Panasonic devices but I have a mix of media equipment Kenwood surround sound Xbox 360 Sony blueray TiVo HD etc So in short this TV does not play well with any of it. Even with the Vivera technology turned OFF this TV still does not communicate with my other HDMI devices. I fear the Panasonic engineers stopped their testing once they new it worked well with other Panasonic devices.I contacted Panasonic support and read the manual carefully on this issue. It states they do not explicitly support compatibility with other nonPanasonic HDMI devices. This is because in order to do that they would have to abandon the Vivera technology whatever that means. So in short I was out of luck. The real clue hits you when they say to only connect with Panasonic HDMI cables. If you have all Panasonic or you just want to hook up cable then this TV is great. If you are like me and really like your devices connected and working well avoid this TV.
good 42'' led lcd tv This Panasonic TV has a veery good sound and picture quality. It also has modern features like internet media player and more.
Amazing This tv has been nothing short of spectacular. The color is crisp there's no lag and the sound quality is good and loud.
Viera L42D30 Close but not quite Pros nice clean elegant look startup and initial setup was very easy and quick. Its size and dimensions meant it fit exactly into my builtin entertainment center all 40inchers were a little too small and every other 42 was about 1/4 too wide to fit. Bought one used through Amazon and that was a super smooth process yay Amazon!Cons I wish I had taken the evaluations more seriously that called this TV a cheap one with some fatal flaws []. The fatal flaws revolve around motion and difficulty representing accurate color.* MOTION Motion is blurry even with Motion Pro set to max SD TV looks grainy. We have a Viera 720p TV and that one looks better than this 1080p TV.
Very Nice Set I bought this tv Oct. 5 2011 it works very well the picture and color is very good. I also purchased wireless LAN Adaptor for internet not much going on there. Now I need a sound system for it If someone know of a good one let me Know of itThe set does not work with an older audio sound system with just audio input.

Great value This tv has great clarity and a wonderful spectrum of colors. For the price it is a fantastic deal. If you are looking for top of the line tv this wont be the tv for you. But if you are looking for a pretty big led this tv is perfect. I play games from xbox on here and they look amazing. The 120 hz is really cool but for the most part unnecessary.
Piece of Junk I bought this tv a little over a year ago the picture quality was amazing however after a month after one year the tv turned green in color. I had the extended warranty and was able to get the problem fixed two weeks later the tv screen started going black every 20 minutes or so. I again called the tv repair company and they came out and fixed the TV again.. I have had both the power supply main board and tv screen fixed and the tv screen is again turning off. I can't believe not even the new parts are working. this is crazy. I paid over 1100 for this tv and It is the worst thing ever.
Awesome TV awesome deal This tv is great for the money. Under $700 for a 1080P/120hz hdtv is awesome. The quality so far is great. I watch movies and play a lot of black ops on this tv. Picture is awesome.
Biggest piece of crap ever I bought this TV on Cyber Monday this year. It shows great specs1080p120hs1ms. The picture should be great! When I set this TV up I was convinced there was something broken inside of it. All the HD channels looked like crap. I even tried a different HDMI cable but it did nothing.
Best picture for the price! I bought this item on Cyber monday and I have been wowed ever since. I was looking at other tv's at a store and none with 4 or 5 hundred more dollars on the tag even looked better. I play my video games on it watch much football and many movies and I have nothing but good to say. I just hope I am still saying this a year from now I will update if the status changes.
Black screen of Death. DO NOT BUY! If I could give this tv 0 stars I would. I bought it a year and 2 months ago and now the screen is BLACK. I can hear sound but thats about it. Apparently there is a lot of problems with Philips TVs. Consumer affairs as a never ending list of them. When it did work it looked great. But I refuse to buy another Philips product again. I cannot believe it DIED one year after I bought it. Unacceptable.
Love philips tv Used to work for philips and my father has for many years.
I'm happy What a great price! What a great TV! I could have spent more money and gotten a newer model but this TV had an RCA audio output for connection to my home entertainment center that the others lacked. The sound from most flat screen TV's is notoriously poor and I didn't want to hassle with a sound bar. The picture is great and setup was a breeze.
TV The TV is great and came in perfect condition. Its not as bright/vibrant as I would like but I still enjoy it.

Great value for your money Nothing I can add to other reviews to describe the picture just fantastic!!!The builtin speakers are just OK but you will instead use a nice surround speaker system anyway.
Do NOT buy Panasonic I bought Panasonic Plasma model TCP50G10 from Amazon in November 2009. The TV completely died within 2 months January 2010 flashing 8 red blinks. Since it was still under warranty Panasonic handled the repair quickly and it worked perfectly for about another 11 months. Now that the unit is just out of the warranty period Jan 2011 it completely died again this time flashing 5 red blinks. This time Panasonic will not fix the problem because the warranty just expired. An expensive 50 inch plasma TV should last longer than one year. I will NEVER buy another Panasonic product ever again urge everyone to stay away from Panasonic.
Panasonic 46 Plasma We did some research before purchasing this product from customer reviews and industry reviews. We are very pleased with the TV. So far the blacks are great but we have only had it for a couple of weeks. The sound is not great but we have a sound system hooked up and it enhances that without a problem. Our room is bright and there are no problems with that. We watch mostly sports and the picture quality with the HD is fantastic. The price was great and the shipping was a no hassle shipping.
Love it! I don't know too much about electronics so I had a little bit of help in finding a new tv. Amazon had the best prices for this brand and model. Great picture and great sound! HD channels looks awesome and video games look really cool while playing! I've had this TV since April 2010 and no complaints here.
Panasonic G10 This is a wonderful television. Picture is great sound is great.
Amazon On Demand VieraCast Black levels disappointing I purchased this television based on reviews that hyped the black levels and have seen them lessen. I also made the purchase based on the fact that I would be able to stream video on demand. Either Amazon On Demand or Panasonic VieraCast make that impossible to do. I've have nothing but connection problems. The video plays for a few seconds and then I get kicked out. I've had a trouble ticket in with both Amazon and Panasonic and have yet to hear back it's been nearly a month.
DONT BUY A TV FROM AMAZON DONT BUY A TV FROM AMAZON! I PAID EXTRA TO HAVE THIS TV DELIVERED BEFORE CHRISTMAS. I TRACKED IT TO WITHIN 10 MILES OF MY HOUSE. CALLED DELIVERY GUY 10 TIMES NO RESPONSE. HAD TO GO TO COSTCO ON CHRISTMAS EVE AND BUY REPLACEMENT. ITS JAN 4TH AND TV IS STILL SITTING IN THE WAREHOUSE.
Panasonic 46 G10 Plasma You don't need to agonize over purchasing a Panasonic plasma TV. I spent three months doing research before making a purchase decision put in a lot of face time at the stores and lots of time on avsforums. And I must say Panasonic Plasmas are fantastic. So just go ahead and get one you won't regret it.I have had the Viera 46 G10 series for 1 year and 8 months and have not been disappointed for a second. I mostly watch HD television on it cable TV and streaming content from an HTPC and the picture is the best I have ever seen on a flat panel plasma or LCD. Black levels are amazing colors are rich and vibrant no motion jitter and it's still picture perfect at extreme viewing angles. I haven't experienced a single problem in all this time.Truth be told since I purchased this TV in April '09 I can no longer watch TV at anyone else's house. They all have LCD's all recent models all top brands including SONY and Samsung but they all look awful compared to a good plasma. It's really unwatchable. So be warned you can be irreversibly spoiled by a Panasonic Plasma. I know I am.
fansam Very pleased. Although plasma is an older technology it is still very hard to beat. The other benifit is the exellent side viewing angle with no fading. It is my understanding that Panasonic bought the technology from Pionees when Pioneer decided not to manufacture TV's any longer. This is relevant because Pioneer made a name for themselves as the very best plasma TV technology on the market.

I love this TV ProsBright vivid picture quality.Handles fast moving picture better than comparable models.3D is amazing.Large Screen size for the moneyGood sound for a flat panel.ConsFlashlightingViewing Angle issuesGlossy ScreenI'm not afraid to say that I got an absolute steal on this TV. Through price matching I got it at a storefront for $1750 INCLUDING a 3d bluray player and 2 pairs of Sharp's Active 3D glasses.
Amazing Picture I bought this TV a few days ago. The picture out of the box was better than expected but I did some tweaking to get it set for my taste. I was equally impressed with 3d 2d hdtv and 2d nonhdtv. Yes HDTV looks better but I was quite surprised to find the nonHDTV channels looked very Sharp as well.
Amazing picture quality!!! I went to go buy a different Sharp LED tv but they were out of stock and apparently they were not going to be getting any more. The salesman pointed this one out to me as an alternate option. The other tv had a refresh rate of 120 while this one has 240. He also pointed out it had a lot of other bells and whistles but my sole purpose of purchacing a tv is for it's picture quality. Boy was I happy I upgraded to this newer version! The picture quality is outstanding! BluRay movies are so incredible looking even at 60. My wife usually doesn't care about this stuff as much as me but when I popped in the Blu Ray of Up her jaw was on the floor! Little to no motion blur at all. Colors are sharp crisp and bold. Set up was easy.
Cloudingcloudingclouding This tv has severe clouding issues. They not only appeared in total black scenes but could be seen during normal veiwing watching Hulu plus Netflix and also BD. 3D looks good but has crosstalk but nothing to stop watching 3D content. I returned TV after trying to live with its issues but went back watching my three year old Sony XBR8 which blows this tv away in PQ. I just wish it had 3d! Amazon was great as usual and returning such a big item was a breeze. I am definatky staying away from edge lit tvs from this point forward.
Good tv this is a good tv with great picture ans a decent number of connections. The sound as you might expect is a little on the weak side.It was easy to setup and get connected.I would purchase it again.
Better TV for a Better price The BLURAY movies color clarity sharpness etc is AWESOME and amazing in this TV.The quality of this TV needs to be judged @ 1080P signal and that is only possible with a Bluray or equivalent signal. The reason i mention this is because like many of us i also have cable TV and the standard definition is @ 480i is good but not the best to watch @ 60 and within 10 feet. HD channels are better but still have motion blur which is noticeable. This also differs from channel to channel and i noticed it is better and awesome in SYFY channel.
You can do much better! When I first started doing my search for a large screen HDTV over 55 inches I thought I had found the right one with the Sharp LC60LE835U. I couldn't have been more wrong. Bottom line is this set has very poor image quality and that is after Amazon sent me three different units and after full calibration on all three. Here are my concerns on this set.1. Where 720p should look better than 1080i it's just the opposite.2. Uniformity of clarity is very uneven across the screen.3. The extra yellow pixel is unnecessary and at best annoying. You really have to back off on the saturation level of the yellow or anything yellow will smack you in the face. I wonder if this is why skin tones are so green.4. No clock and limited program description in display.5. Channel recognition is slow very slow.6. My main complaint is the sharpness control on these sets needs to be set at about the +20 to + 40 range in order to really get the HD to shine. That is way to high. You should never have to approach mid point setting on your sharpness to get good HD image quality.7. Film mode and Motion enhancement. Set these two together and feel like you are watching video all day. Soap opera effect. It does a great job at this. Yuck!I suppose the bottom line is stick with Samsung LED LCD or plasma if you want truly great quality. But what I have found out is there are no sets over 55 inches that perform up too HD quality standards. Almost all reviews I have researched don't even mention 60 inch and above sets based on this fact. My Samsung 46 inch LNT series eats this Sharp for lunch and that's being polite.
Fantastic TV I have to be honest that I was a bit nervous after making my purchase. I had done a lot of research and knew some people were complaining of clouding and other issues. However there was also great reviews on this TV as well. The TV has been on my wall now for about a month and I cannot complain about one thing except for maybe the sound which is typical for this type of TV. The picture is spectacular and the 3D is even pretty amazing as well. When friends and family come over they are amazed at the clarity of the picture.

Toshiba 46SL412U 46 Inch 1080p LED LCD Amazing!

Great deal I've got four Toshibas now and every one has performed flawlessly. I've got two wallmounted and two on stands. I do recommend them.
Great TV Know what you're getting The picture on this TV is amazing and it's a great value just make sure you are running your audio through a sound system.Upgraded from a normal 42' LCD TV I use this primarily as a monitor for my PC and have run into some minor issue with mouse lag and gaming lag I don't think the processor on this TV is very strong.Played around with the settings figured out that if I have the scaling processing done by the computer and if I set the TV to Game Mode I can almost eliminate mouse lag.
Toshiba LED TV We purchased this TV a month back so far we are happy with the TV. Picture quality is good and sharp. Easy to operate. Sound quality didn't meet our expectations. I would certainly recommend to others based on the value for the money spent.
Great Picture sounds is tinney After much review and searching we picked the toshiba 46sl412u quality of picture is great the speakers are tinney you need a good sound system we looked at sound bars but for the money we bought the bose cinnema with sub woofer and two speakers what a sound there are allot to tv with wifi but we chose one without. Bought before Christmas. We have a very bright room and side angles to watch shows and videos are great. Could have more of a jack pack another set would be nice. Would recommend this to friends.
Fantastic for the price I got this TV from Fry's for an unbeatable price $699. The whole idea behind this thing is to give you a decent LED picture at a low price point without the frills. Sound? Yep sucks. Smart internet features? Not here. But the picture is great and I run it through my home theater system for sound. And if you're spending over $600 for a TV why wouldn't you? I just don't understand people complaining about the sound on flat TVs. It's like buying an iPod and then complaining that the sound coming out of the builtin one inch speaker isn't good. That's not what they're made to do You have to plug it into decent headphones or a receiver to make it sound like it should.Anyway this TV does exactly what I expected it to and more. It's certainly not top of the line but it has exceeded my expectations. It is a lowpower consumption LED with great picture.
Poor picture quality I was tempted by the low price of this model but it's picture was terrible. Playback could seem choppy at times and the default settings were awful. I only kept it for a couple of weeks before exchanging it for a Samsung that was only a little more money. I would recommend staying away from this model. I know its an LED TV i.e. thinner etc. but the speakers are a lot worse than other models.
Amazing! This product is amazing! I got this product for an amazing price compared to the 1100 bucks that it usually sells for! The picture quality is great the remote works and it has fancy motion sensative buttons! Truly amazing! My only complaint would be the sound but I think I can live with it because it's not too horrible. Besides I plan on getting surround sound soon anyway.
Excellent TV with a few issues Overall I think this is an excellent TV but it has issues which may or may not be a problem for you.1 The picture is excellent very clear picture accurate color. I have two other smaller HD TVs that are 720p and you can see the difference compared to them.2 The stand doesn't move. The TV sits vertically and you can't lean it or swivel left to right. This isn't a problem for me but I mention it in case it might bother some people.3 The TV comes with instructions regarding setup but doesn't really come with an owners manual. I think this is a point against Toshiba but it's not that big an issue since you can download the PDF from Toshiba's web site for free.
Francisco L. Saprissa Recently purchased this TV Toshiba LED PRICESMART Costa Rica with a very good price screen size and picture is excellent too with good brightness colors and HD the sound that all commentators dare not crticar neither more nor less a reference audio is offered and you want something better than an AV system acquires heat at least 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound chanels recommend the Onkyo Yamaha or Pioneer easy to install also do not offer someone criticizes the manual but in the TV settings is quick and easy.
Great Picture Very Poor Sound Just got it from Fry's for $599. Very nice unit beautiful design great picture but the sound is really bad. There is no dynamic range and it sounds exceptionally flat tinny unnatural sound. While another reviewer says that's what to expect from a flat screen my experience indicates that's not true as I have 7 other flat screens mostly Sony and Samsung and nothing sounds as bad as this. Since I only paid $599 I'm good with this purchase but I'm wondering what Toshiba was thinking when they installed a 29 cent speaker in this unit I may call them and ask them. BTW when the unit was in my cart at Fry's I checked the reviews on my iPhone and read about the sound issue but I thought how bad can it be? I found out it's pretty bad. Thinking of adding a sound bar Zvox makes a nice one for about $250.
