Great TV!!! One of the better TV I ever bought for the price I paid! Great choice! Highly recommend it to others.
TV lasted only 8 months The TV was great for 8 months. Clear crisp picture quality bright vivid colors great sound etc. Three days ago when I was watching the picture flashed and turned dark blueblack.I can hear tv programs change channels but no picture. There are a few light speckles showing on the screen in the corner. I contacted Samsung immediately for an exchange and have yet to hear back from them and Amazon does not deal with returns for such matters. So now I am stuck with an expensive tv that does not work. I made the mistake of purchasing this TV from Amazon. I will never do this again because when something goes badly they clearly state that it is not their responsibility. My lesson buy locally where you can walk back into a store with your TV that is not working. I cannot afford to buy a new TV and Amazon and Samsung is missing in action.
No Issues. I have had this exact TV for over a year and have it wall mounted. It is hooked up to 7.1 Ch Onkyo home theater system. I also have a Samsung Blu Ray player. I did not buy this from Amazon. I really feel bad for the folks that have had issues with theirs because mine has exceeded my expectations. No issues with quality picture sound. Nothing to complain about.
Good product Good TV and great quality. I bought this to replace my very old TV that would not stop working. I knew I wanted a LED TV + Smart TV. I did not care about the 3D feature. And bought this during a good sale for around 1000 dollars.Personally I did not like the smart tv features as it is missing the surfing the web capabilities But none of the TVs of this generation has browser capabilities so it is not Samsung's fault. Smart TV technology is still a new technology and lots of room to grow. I ended up getting a Logitech Revue with Google TV with surfing the web capabilities.
Half Screen Uncolored!!!!!!!!! I bought this LED from Samsung because I have always trusted Samsung. They lost my trust in this one!!!! I bought it on September 2011 and started giving problems on March 2012 conveniently for Amazon and Samsung since its a 30 day money back it started with a thin line of what seems to be dead pixels. Then it got worst!!! Half of screen now flickers from great color to dim and shallow color. As if almost going into black and white but with a hint of color. Since I live in Dominican Republic I have no chance of returning it passed 1 months anyway but apart from that services for Samsung TV is very limited. I have no repair for my TV. I will have to stick with it luckily the flickering stops for a while maybe to once a week.
Nine months later and loving it I purchased this in July 2012 from Amazon. First I was amazed to receive a flatscreen in good condition by mail order. Then I found it quite easy to set up with cable receiver and speakers. I'm not a technical person but I have to say that the picture quality is outstanding! Rich bright colors. High definition makes it even better than going to the movie theaters. I don't have bluray however I can't imagine it to be much better. Attached to 201 Series Bose bookcase speakers I enjoy great sound and don't need more in my small condo apartment. The UN40D6000 builtin speakers are pretty bad if you care about fidelity. So I recommend some external ones. I've only just begun to take advantage of the SMART part of this TV as I hadn't gotten a router until now. All in all I recommend this item wholeheartedly. There are newer models now but I expect they should be comparable.
Good for several months and then I purchased this TV on 12/11/11 and enjoyed using it sparingly for about 4 months. Then there was a pop and the sound of broken pieces falling inside the case. Samsung support said that I would need to take it to an authorized repair facility for repairs which I did. A couple of weeks later I was told that the board had to be replaced.a couple of weeks later I received a call from Samsung stating that the board replacement did not correct the problem and that a panel would be needed therefore they were going to send a new replacement TV within a couple of weeks. I was told that they would email a shipping label for me to return the old TV and I was given the support person's phone number. Following that I have not received the shipping lable nor have I received the courtesy of a reply to my many many calls to the support person. All of the folks I have spoken with at Samsung are very nice but I'm growing more and more frustrated. The TV was great for the short time it was in service. I have since purchased another Samsung to use while we await the replacement but I don't know that I would purchase another based on the lack of service for this unit.
Huge Backlight Bleed Problems This would be a great product if it was not of the light bleeding issue. I was aware of this issue when I bought the TV but it is very apparent when watching dark scenes and the bright spots are not just limited to the edges they cover a great deal of the screen. Would not recommend buying this product. Keep away from it and look for another product with limited or nonexistent backlight bleed issues otherwise you may regret it. Go with LG or Sharp.
Beware of Samsung A year and a half ago I purchased a 55 HDTV from Samsung. Everything worked as it should have then one day vertical lines suddenly appeared on the screen. At the time I believed that it was a mainboard problem because the HDMI ports felt loose. I should mention that I rarely if ever touched the cables.I called Samsung support and they charged us $60 to send a technician to diagnose the problem. He took a 30 second look at it and decided it must be the panel even though I was insistent about the HDMI ports. I figured that the technician probably knew more than I did so I ended up contacting the repair department to have a new panel installed. They offered to replace the panel specifically stating that we wouldn't have to pay anything part or labor. In came the same technician who just replaced the panel. The problem persisted and he finally came to the realization that the issue lies in the mainboard due to loose HDMI ports. He then proceeded to charge us $160 for labor. So now I'm out $220 and still have a broken TV with a mainboard that is NOT covered because Samsung misdiagnosed the problem. On top of that getting through to their repair service department on the phone has proven very difficult. You would think that an HDTV costing over $1500 would last longer than 18 months of moderate use that Samsung could send someone who could accurately diagnose the problem and that they would fix it after charging you $220 for repairs.I used to be a fan of Samsung having bought several product from them but I can't recommend them anymore. If they treat their loyal customers like this then it's time to find companies that can deliver on their products.
Silent Movies? I agree with the other reviews the picture quality is great. We are happy with all its many features but my concern is sound. The sound on this was so bad that we had to hook it up to our stereo speakers. At first we thought it would be better if it were not in a cabinet but even out of the cabinet the sound was terrible.

I’ve been looking to upgrade some of my older TV sets based on a recommendation from a co-worker from Dish with HD sets when I get the new Dish Hopper satellite receiver installed this weekend. After seeing the specs here online, I think I made up my mind to get at least two of these TV’s because what I’m really looking forward to on the Hopper is having HD, DVR, and internet access in every room. I can’t wait!
