  • Out of Warranty Out of Luck If I could have given a negative rating I would. I cannot believe a company would continue to sell a product that clearly has a long history of problems. We have had our TCP42S1 for less than 18 months and now it is blinking 10 times which I understand means one or more of the boards is now defunct. Searching for a diy cure I came upon many boards all having the same problem. They need to recall of theses Plasmas and FIX THE PROBLEM!I strongly urge you to reconsider purchasing this product. If you are determined make sure you get the extended warranty. YOU WILL NEED IT.
good for 20 months then the blinking light came I thought I had a great plasma but the tv died yesterdaythe 10 blinking lights I'm going to try and have Panasonic fix it for free but I surely doubt it. Very frustraated. i year warranty sucks! and I'm going to spread the word on Panasonic if they won't help me next time I will read all the 1star reviews first.
Great picturebut Like others after about 18 months having power supply problems. TV has a great picture sound is decent. However the set won't turn on. Need to unplug for 2 minutes or so until light stops flashing and resets wait for the click sound then it USUALLY turns on if not repeat. Having to take 25 minutes to turn tv on is a real pain. I guess I could leave on 24/7 but the utility bill could get quite high.
Great TV WHEN IT WORKS First off this is a great television. Really.Unfortunately the power supply issue is a real problem.Ours lasted 18 months and we got the blinking red light of death. It now doesn't work we have to lug it into a repair shop where it will sit for a few weeks before getting an astronomical bill to repair a problem THAT PANASONIC KNOWS EXISTS ie the powerboard. So we are out 700+ dollars for a television that lasted 18 months and doesn't work.I will NOT buy Panasonic products ever again. This is the first television I have ver owned that has a problem and I paid 3 times the money over my last TV purchase.Long story short If you want your heart broken buy this tv. If not buy another brand that doesn't have a known problem with it.
Worst TV/Company ever The SC board blew out.Out of Warranty.Costs 500 dollars to repair for an 800 dollar TVTook 5 months to fix.Received the TV back broken and missing mounts.Panasonic doesnt care. Their repair shop they sent me to doesnt care. Panny gave me the excuse that if I have a car that is out of warranty i would have to pay for the repair. I agredd but not if the cars costs 20k and would cost me 15k to fix the alternator.Take this story and the thousands of poor panasonic reviews online.
Nice Picture Totally Unreliable. After seeing so many positive reviews from consumer groups and seeing its fantastic picture quality purchasing this TV was an easy choice. But what a mistake. Only one month out of warranty it started experiencing problems. The picture would go dead followed the power light blinking 7 times repeatedly. This issue could be resolved but unplugged the HDMI cables and the TVs power. It was a huge inconvenience but it worked usually after several tries. Then 6 months out of warranty it refuses to turn on and only provides a series of 10 blinking power lights. A very expensive repair. Later quickly googleing these issues I've discovered they're quite commonplace. An utterly unreliable lemon. Making matters worse Panasonic's customer service line was miserable.
Great TV. Bad Components and Customer Service. I bought this TV from HH Gregg 22 months ago. Manufacturers warranty is 12 months parts and labor. Last night the power supply failed. This is apparently a chronic problem with these TVs. Called Panasonic customer support. I was on hold for over half an hour. I was told I would have to take the TV to an authorized Panasonic repair facility an hour away from where I live. I was given an estimate by the repairman of $250 labor to repair the problem and if I was lucky Panasonic might pay for the part. The TV was great while it lasted but I am so angry about the thought of having to waste my own gas money plus $250 labor plus whatever the part costs for something that should probably be recalled and replaced by Panasonic. I would not recommend buying this TV without an extended warranty/service contract which for me would have been around $300 at HH Gregg. If Panasonic does not step up and fix this problem for impacted customers I would recommend avoiding buying anything from Panasonic.
power supply dead after three years I spent $1600. on this television a few years ago. Excellent picture quality untilit just inexplicably died after a few years. No power no troubleshooting works it justexperiences sudden power death. Won't turn on. Many people have experienced this and Panasonicrefuses to help.
Panasonic TV Review This is a great TV for the price. I have one and have not regretted it for a day! Set up was easy. Everything worked very well. And it is a great addition to my home.
Great TV until it died Do not buy this TV. Great picture quality but what good does that do you if the TV is dead. I had zero complaints about this Panasonic TV until it died 18 months from purchase date just long enough to be out of warranty. The repair cost was $410 for sc board replacement and labor.Panasonic has a serious problem with circuit board failures on these plasmas and they have done nothing to help the consumers and their lemons.
