  • Great little TV Picture is awesome bright clear and sharp 1080p. Haven't seen any artifacts with 60 Hz prob due to small size. Very simple to connect to a wireless network up to N standard. Some complain about sound but it actually does a very decent job considering the small form factor which is why I wanted it in the first place. If you want a deep bass booming system you won't find it in ANY flat screen. Simply augment with a surround sound system. After looking at many small flat screens this one was my choice for a featurerich multiple connection optioned builtin wireless Smart TV. I've seen some cheesy Netflix interfaces. This one is one of the better interfaces and easy to navigate. It is a little slow booting up when you turn it on probably due to all of the processes a smart TV has in order to function. I've had the product for 6 months and it has been flawless. Very pleased with this purchase.
Disappointed! Bought this TV for my buddy here in Afghanistan. I am using AWOL 24 TV that I paid $300. He wanted the same or similar so I suggested we go for Toshiba which looked the same for the price but the brand name and lightweight of Toshiba seemed like a good choice.Amazon provided free shipping which was another reason why we went for it.When arrived we easily installed it only to find out that although it has million different in/out jacks in the back it has no headphone jack!! Huge disappointment it was. we all live in tents here with 7 other folks in it and there is no excuse for being loudFigured out to order Cables To Go 03182 3.5mm Stereo Female to RCA Male YCable and I did. It should arrive soon from amazon.com. Hopefully that will solve the problemBiggest issue though Turned on and hooked up my PS3. Further disappointment Picture quality is so bad you can't play any game that has dark environment. Played with all possible picture setups no luck.Quite contrary my AWOL has great picture and you can see everything in high resolution. Now I will have to give my AWOL to the friend and keep the Toshiba with horrible picture. No way can I continue playing Fallout 3 on it.! Very very very disappointing.Pro Lightweight Has two USB jacks Cool and easy to use remote controller Decent sound from speakersCon No way to hook up headphones Picture quality is beyond BAD when playing games on itLeading inovation??? hmIf you want to play games on this one better buy some other TVP.S. I used to have Toshiba Satellite laptop it died after 68 months of occasional use.
Great when it works. The Toshiba 24' SL415SU is a very good LED television with internet connectivity. Unfortunately the one I received was malfunctioning and would not allow me to connect to Netflix. The reason I bought this particular model was for the internet connectivity. What appears to be an identical model without the internet option is available for a lesser price. The tv would not allow me to upgrade the firmware so there is probably a mother board issue. Amazon could not replace it as they were sold out of this model. After discussion with customer service they did give me a credit which will provide shipping costs to Toshiba and a little extra. Toshiba expects the customer to pay shipping to have the tv repaired under warranty. I think that is poor customer service. Amazon on the other hand does seem to work hard to keep customers happy. We will see if the factory repair takes care of the issue. As far as the tv itself I think it is worth the cost. The picture quality is very good for a 24 tv. The sound quality is not as good as you would receive from a larger tv or receiver but I was satisfied after switching to a component a/v connection. Like most if not all LED and LCD panels this tv is brighter than my plasma. I would prefer the tv have more component 1 and composite connections with fewer hdmi connections 4. Amazon also matched the lower price which I found at Sears after ordering this tv. All in all a good buy. If the internet feature worked it would be a great buy.
Good TV Internet not so much The picture quality of the TV is great and it was easy to set up. We purchased it especially so we could access Internet programming. It is not easy to access. The choices available are limited and most of them are pay services like Netflix. We are very disappointed in this part of our purchase. The sound is OK not great. The controls are easy to use and understand. Only real complaint is Internet.
good tv terrible customer service Will think carefully before buying Toshiba products again. The TV is a small internet ready tv and there weren't many to choose from. Have had it for three months. The problem is Toshiba customer service is TERRIBLE. Initial setup not too confusing one call to customer service was helpful. But then I had problems using their remote. We have Comcast for cable and if you use the Comcast remote you don't get the best features offered through the TV NetTV which leads you to Netflix Pandora etc.Once you figure out how to use the Toshiba remote it's a good tv. But after numerous calls and getting to get this Level Two support i.e. their advanced tech team still NO ONE knew how to actually use their remote! I had one Level Two guy tell me the problem must be the physical cable wire!! After hours of experimenting I figured it out. The TV and Cable/Sat buttons are reversed. If you want to change regular TV channels you need Cable on Channel 3 then you click Cable NO not TV and change the TV channels. If you're watching TV and want to go to internet options press TV NO not Cable and then press NetTV. To get out of NetTV press Exit and you get back to full screen TV. If you can't figure out the remote don't waste your time with their customer service!! Just experiment. They were so stupid they sent me FOUR seriously FOUR REPLACEMENT REMOTES only one of which I asked for in THREE MONTHS.
*** Great 24 LED TV *** I bought this TV already used from Amazon Warehouse the only complaint was the overside package. It was repackage in a giant box that maybe support 5 or 6 TV inside it. the package just weighted 26 pounds but pounds were increased to 88 cubit pounds using that box.Related to Toshiba 24SL415U image and sound are greats but the TV WIFI signal ratio are lower in more than 25 feets away the router. You must require a WIFI Range extender for better use.I'm confidence with the brand considering the first Toshiba TV purchased at home.
Lots of bells and whistles I bought this TV because I was looking for a small TV that had wireless media player capability for my new home gym. Didn't want to buy an additional media player and wireless dongle to attach to a TV and wanted these built in to the TV. Its hard to find a 24 TV that has the features this TV has wireless internet apps Netflix Blockbuster Yahoo and DLNA to play media files off my home network it even has a 5Ghz wireless band.I was thrilled to find this TV but like others have commented the sound is lacking it's advertised to have 2 5 watt speakers as opposed to others in this size that have 2 3 watt speakers. Don't know if Toshiba's 5 watt spec is accurate because I can't hear this TV over the sound of my treadmill I had to go out and buy a small wall mountable sound bar to be able hear the TV when I exercise. For those interested it will play MP4 and AVI video files but not MKV files though I have some MP4 video files that play without sound. I have only tested MP3 music files and haven't found any problems so far playing music. It is also a little slow to respond to the remote functions like powering on and getting file information off of my network sometimes it takes a few minutes before I can see the media files on my network. When it does start playing my media it doesn't have a problem buffering and seems to play movies and music without pauses and interruptions.
Quirky/Great Picture/Lousy Sound/No Full Screen! Why don't these TVs hold their picture size settings or do it automatically? I can understand why analog channels don't come up full screen but the digital ones should be perfect. When setting a channel's size via either the remote or the menu it doesn't stick. When you change the channel and then return to the one you thought you just set it goes back to the smaller size. This stinks. Bad design. Why is it my older TVs do this automatically and the two Toshibas I own don't?!Another problem is the sound. Terrible! Buzzy. Clipping. I'm thinking of putting desktop speakers on this bedroom unit just so I can hear clear music. I play Pandora and Live 365 a lot on that unit.
replaced an old ge had an old 20 ge that we got new in 1982 was working fine but sound was going got this 24 for the wife she loves it nice sound and pic would buy another one.
Defective Product Terrible Service! The remote for this TV is an essential part of its function but is chronically defective. One user at the Toshiba website claims that the remote stops functioning whenever the internetstreaming program is upgraded. My experience is it stops working every two months. First Toshiba sent a replacement remote within a week or so the second time the company promised replacement but has never sent it and disconnects me every time I try to reach Customer Service. Three weeks later I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.
